    Haven't seen any "official" discussion.

    Do you have a cite?

Here's some earlier discussion about a one-off Gen II rag top.

There are so many things wrong with that picture, I'm not sure where to start.

    Okay, I'll try:
    - The gas cap is half in the body and half in the open air
    - The door window frames are intact which is just plain butt ugly
    - If there is going to be a 2011 Prius convertible, it's most likely not going to be based on the Gen2 model

There is a guy I read a thread about who can make a convertible out of just about anything and he made a Prius convertible. But I don't think it's an official Toyota initiative.

You're all missing the real nature of that picture. That's Sikes's Prius that has been made into a convertible so he could easily jump out in case of SUA.

You know this photo is a photo of a one-off custom Prius convertible, right?

Yes guys, it's a real car. It's been posted on PC before (just like the Prius limo) and it isn't a PS.

    Tony,
your misunderstanding me,i overheard that a prius convertable was in the works from a frined who works at the local Toyota dealer.I posted the pic that i found on google to go along with the thread, didnt mean to imply it was the new convertable.Gues i should have pointed that out when i posted the thread.I agree with you,a Prius convert doesnt seem likely.

Toyota will probably make a hybrid sports car to compete with the CR-Z. That has a much greater chance of having a convertible option.
