Filled up my '10 Prius II for the first time today after picking it up over one week ago. Car took 9.45 gallons after the low gas warning came on. Car indicated 20 miles to empty. I had driven 492 miles total. I am absolutely thrilled with this car. Definitely one of the best decisions I've made in a long time.

My first two fill ups were done by the car dealership, the third was by my wife who did not fill it all the way. The best we got out of those was 46.2mpg and 330 miles. This tank I filled it up 9.25 gal and at 3 pips we have gone 320 miles. I am hoping for over 400 on this tank.

My wife drives the car a bit hard so we are now getting 44.2 mpg.

I was hoping for more, but without going to extremes I think 46 is all I will get out of the car.

As the car and tires break in, gas mileage will improve. As the weather warms and dries out (Spring and Fall), the MPG improves. It will decline in the summer as the A/C runs a lot, but that is true of any car.

You may very well out do 46 mpg, give it some time as you learn about the car. One last "non extreme" tip. If you can slow down, even just 5 mph on the freeway, it will help your MPG's. The behavioral changes are the hardest to make.

I'm just excited to be driving a car that gets 46 mpg on the low end. Like pugzilla said, I too can't believe I accepted 20 mpg or less for all those years. This is great!

Haven't made my first fill-up yet - I've got three bars left on the gas gauge. Gone about 350 miles so far.. Tomorrow will be one week of having the car. Getting about 53 MPG so far. I've very happy!

I just back from a trip to visit my family for Easter in my new Prius. Over the long weekend, we filled up the tank the 1st and 2nd times. I can't quite believe my eyes, but the car is telling me that on the 206 mile drive home from my parents house today, I got 59.9 mpg. That just seems too good to believe, doesn't it?

Your actual (measured - calculated) is probably around 56-57.

Makes you wonder why Toyota don't just knock 2mpg off their trip computer as it nearly always shows about 2mpg higher than you actually get.
