Currently have 2010 Prius Pkg V. I have the built in Nav System. Everything was working fine until today.
When I push the Map button the radio station changes or if I am listening to a CD and push the Map button then it forwards the CD to another song. Anyone have any ideas of what is causing this?
    Thx

It sounds like an issue with the Nav system. When you press the Map button it should only change the screen to the GPS map and should have nothing to do with the audio system.

Take it to your dealer and have them check it out.

    Thx

I made an appt. with the dealer. Guess I find out Monday what the problem is. I will post the resolution on here.

I sure hope it is not a huge electrical problem. Nothing like having an electrical problem on a new car.

I hope that it is not going to be a continuous issue. That would really suck up some bucks once the warranty expires. I did purchase the extended warranty from Troy. But, I am not sure if it covers the Nav. System. Maybe someone here has that answer or I will ask the dealer.

Thx. I'll go to my appt today and tell them that it is the head unit. Of course they'll still diagnose the issue. But I'll have the heads up. Do you know what the head unit consist of.

Head unit is the whole stereo/nav system. It's like installing a new radio on your car. Good luck.

Nav is covered under the Platimun Extended Warranty. see Toyota Financial Services: Vehicle Service Agreements

Just got back from the dealer. They asked me if I had attached anything to the Nav System such as a radar detector, etc. Nope, it is all OEM. They conducted troubleshooting for 1 1/2 hrs. They even called technical assistance. I suggested to them that the head unit was defective. Well, after all of their work they decided that the head unit is defective. They ordered one and said it should be in next week. Sounds familar, huh?

Thank you all for all of your excellent assistance.

Sir, thank you very much for the informative link. I added it to my favorites. It is very comforting to know that it is covered.

The Nav should also be covered under the basic 36K miles/36 month warranty.

A co-worker had a Nav unit that lost the presets a couple of months after purchase. Took it to the dealer and they ordered and installed a new Nav head unit, no questions asked.

As crappy as the NAV/Radio system is, I bet it only costs Toyota $50 per unit.

This must be a problem on the 2010 prius. It's been a week and I didn't get a call from the dealer so I called them and they just informed me that it is on a 2 week back order. So I got to wait another week before the unit hopefully arrive and I get my new unit b

How did it go? How is the new system? Mines going to be installed on Friday. That's the only free time I have to sir at the dealership and watch a movie in their 12 seat theatre room with free food. 

Wow! Movie theatre and free food while you wait! Must be nice. I got to sit in a sitting room watching CNN, no free food but free coffee. But they were out of the coffee.
Anyway, got the NAV head replaced. Does not look any different but it does work correctly now. It took 1 hour to replace it.
Enjoy your movie and food. Good Luck
