I posted this in newbies, but this is probably the place to put it. Please help! My 2006 Prius' touchscreen has stopped working...Only way to get info is to use the on-steering-wheel controls. The Toyota dealer (Roseville, CA) said it needs to be replaced and it will cost $1800! That's like buying a new imac. Is there anyother way to get this repaired? Help! I've loved my Prius (which I got second hand last year) but if this is the repair costs attached I might as well trade in for a Ford hybrid. Any advice would be appreciated.

Give Steve Woodruff a call at autobeyours (www.autobeyours.com). He specializes in Prius repairs and rebuilding insurance salvage Priuses and has been very helpful in the past. He can probably either fix yours or get you another one at a better price. You may have to wait till Monday to talk to him...you could also drop him an email using the contact info on his website.

Thanks, I'll try this. I just read all the 2007 posts from the place that was offering refurbished MFDs, then discontinued. It's really ironic that the display at four years in my case right out of warrantee. I hope I can get this fixed. Appreciate your response.
