The two are not compatible in any way.

What I have done is use the outlet in the center console to charge my Iphone, and play it over the aux jack. its 2 cords instead of one, but it works much better than a FM transmitter.

I use this setup from Radio Shack daily in a Prius and also in an Odyssey. It works great!

I'd be interested in this. If I could hook an external usb/or flash drive up to the aux port somehow, I could use the steering wheel controls and the mfd! I know the incompatibilities with this idea, but I was hoping someone made a small module to sit on an aux connection to read the fs on the usb drive and play the music.

Sorry but the idea of having audio out on a flash drive is a tad ridiculous.

You can buy a really cheap Sansa media player and use that. :)

The Aux port is just an audio input. You need something to create the audio. If it is coming from a thumb drive, then you need some sort of computer device to read the digital audio files and then output them as analog audio - in other words you need some sort of mp3 player.

As for control from the steering wheel, how would the control inputs get to the player device? The Aux port is input only.
