We've had our 2005 for about 2 months now and it's my wife's daily driver. She has been oh so careful to always park "at the far end of the lot". I'm sure you can relate.

Well, this last Sunday my Mom and I were having a morther/son day that consisted of attending a play at American Players Theatre, which is an outdoor classical theatre located in the woods about an hour out of Madison. I've been there at least once a year for many years. Imagine my horror when on the way there a vision of the parking lot resolved itself in the forefront of my consiousness and I realized that there was almost now way possible I was going to be able to live up to my wife's expectations for properly parking her baby. I knew the (gravel!) parking lot was going to be packed full and there would be no such thing as a spot away from potential door dingers.

Imagine now the great sense of relief when as I was waved into the designated row by the red flag waving attendant the first thing I spot is 2 Prii side by side followed by an empty space and then a shiny new BMW sedan! I zipped into that empty space so quick that my Mom thought I had temporarily lost all regard for maintaining our high MPG rating. (This is what we had been talking about the whole way there of course.)

Sometimes it all works out! :D

I was away on business travel and when I returned I asked how the ding got in the back passenger door. She had no clue. That was the end of parking at the far side of the lot.

Like you, when I see a shiny new car or a fancy car, I always try to park next to it. Of course, with my luck, as soon as I walk away, they'll leave and an old two-door rust-bucket will pull up and swing their 150 lb. door into mine.

When the Prius was less than two months old, I was looking at it one day after parking my truck in the garage and was horrified when I saw a long scratch down the driverside of the car. Luckily I was able to get it out with some wax and polish. Having a blue car is a pain in the butt to take care of!

I do too, but check out the Prius bank robber thread. At least one Prius driver is crazy enough to go out and rob a bank! :guns:

My wifes is usually parked next to a gas hog Infiniti SUV - in our garage.

Now I've gone and spoiled my carefully crafted reputation on this site.

Haha, ours is usually parked between my truck and our suburban! I guess my reputation is more ruined than yours :(

At least my reputation is saved :) My garage houses the Prius and a Ford Explorer AWD. Relatively speaking, a pair of economy cars...

Mine is really trashed, besides the BMW the other car is an AWD Olds Bravada SUV. But wait, maybe I am redeemed, I have a 10kw Solar Electric Array on my roof that generates about 13,000 KWH of green electricity a year.

I allus park on the nice person-end of way-the-hell out there. Safer, easier to park, and walking is better than driving anyway.

Kirbinster - too bad you can't plug that solar array into your Prius!
