I just got my entire car (except front windshield) tinted on Monday. I don't know the 'percentages' - I said to go "dark" in the back and "medium" in the front. I asked him if he could do the sunroof and he said he doesn't do it since they sometimes break (?) and he doesn't want to be held liable for that. I kinda wish he did tint since I like opening the shade, but the sun sometimes is too bright and blinds me or reflects too much on the nav screen. He charged me $150 and came to my house. I thought that was a pretty good price.

I wonder if I went to another tint place if they could do it and for how much.

    Fusion101,
the installer gave me the option of cutting around the dot matrix and I said " yes". No matter what tint you use, the dot matrix is a raised surface and will most likely cause bubble problems down the line...airblue is pretty clear so the cutoff line is hardly noticable

My tint guy (Hamid @ Sunshield Tint) brought this up before he did it. He told me he's done a lot of those types and some are more of a problem than others. He was confident that mine was not going to be a problem so he tinted right over the dots. I have no problems with it and it looks fine. I'll see if I can take a quick picture today.

I absolutely LOVE my 20% on the sunroof. I almost always have the shade slide open now and it makes it feel much more open and airy without it being too bright or hot. I now use the tilt up mode on the sunroof a lot now.

If anyone were to ask me if they should tint there front window and sunroof I wouldn't hesitate to say YES!!!!!!! and the sooner the better to get the UV protection for your interior.

I am looking at getting Air Blue installed on our windshield of our Plugin Prius while we are at Disneyland in May. Our primary tint dealer here won't touch the windshield, even with Ari Blue.

Sunshield looks to be about an hour to an hour and a half away. Any recommendations for installers that will install Air Blue on the windshield with a high quality install job and decent prices?

Also if I do go with SunShield, any idea how long it would take?

It is a great thing to do This is the second car I have had it one and will always do it.
It keeps the car much cooler and cuts the glare off the sun and reflections of other cars and make my sunglasses work better.

Try Elite Auto Tint. They are mobile but do have a location at the Sunny Hills Car Wash in Fullerton. My friend's GTI was done by them and the quality of their work is very good IMO.

I once asked them for a quote to tint the windshield on my Prius with Air Blue 80, and I believe they quoted me $150.

If you do use Sunshield it will take about an hour just let them know you need to wait. Also, the do all their work inside so they work very clean.

How do brake lights/ traffic lights, etc look through the Air Blue on the Prius Windshield? I read somewhere that due to the extreme angle of the windshield, there are some issues with having Air Blue. Creates a slight distortion??

Any help would be appreciated. Just got my plates in the mail, so I can now remove my temporary tags and possibly get AirBlue installed. I didn't think I would need to do anything to the windshield after getting side windows done, but the sun reaches most of my legs through the windshield and the inside still gets quite warm. Thanks again

I have had Air Blue 80 on my car since 08, it took about 10 seconds to get used to it! Simply put, there is nothing to get used to! It works great, limits UV, does NOT distort vision. I have had NO problems with this tint on the front windshield!
That pretty much sums it up!

I have the same experience. I've had it on since early 2010. I can't think of any negatives. If you got in my car you'd never know the front window had it. It really is very unnoticeable but does reduce heat compared to the bare windows (at least on the Prius with such a steep rake of the glass).
