front headlights

    I'm curious about the headlights in my level 4 prius. It appears there is a row of small lights just above the high beam reflectors and below the parking lamp. What are these?

    Unfortunately just decoration, to bad they are not a row of LEDs.

    Same question just got asked a week or two ago by someone thinking they were not lighting up. Unfortunately, they are not LED's or lights in there, it's just something placed there for aesthetics.

    Nope they're not.

    There are a few posts about this in the forums. Some owners have modded their headlights to include LEDs and they look good. In fact I remember posting a link to a picture of this mod.

    Maybe a company will bring out an official headlight mod to include these, but I bet they'd be too expensive for me :(

    No, they are not used for anything other than being 'decorative' in any other country...

    Yeap. That was me alright. I thought I was the only one got mislead by the "LED Look-alike" design of the headlight. Here is the thread that I posted.

    When I got my 2008 Gen2 Prius I was wondering the same thing about the headlights!! I looked and looked at those little row of seeming-LED lights. I was mesmerized and tried to turn them on somehow. But they did not turn on! (...reminded me of my girlfriend)

    Now I find out that, yeah, they are only decorative. *sigh*

    I thought they were real when I saw them on the lot. What a surprise when I tried them at home.

    My prius has a light bulb above those led looking pegs but no LEDs
