I can't thank you enough for your pictorial on the tuner/interface install. Helped me big time. You mentioned moving the units behind the right vent (which is where I installed mine) because of overheating issues. My units..not sure which one...quit working yesterday. No recognition on the touch screen at all that a SAT connection exists. I removed both units but didn't unplug them and noticed they were very warm to the touch and I'm wondering if you think the reason for the malfunction is overheating. If so what did you do to resolve it? Just let it cool? The fuse appears fine.

9G-Man, thanks for the photos and notes on both the antenna-in-spoiler and SCC1 installation. I did both today and you made an easy job out of one that would certainly have been slower and more filled with uncertainty. Particularly appreciated is your note on locating the modules in the space to the right of the glove boxes. They do run hot and the extra area will help with cooling.

I'm really pleased with the antenna in the spoiler, reception seems great. Now I just hope Sirius sticks around for me to enjoy my mobile subscription.

I bought my SCC1 new and the TOY-SC1 used for $88 total with shipping from a seller on eBay who seems to be dealing a lot of these packages. The TOY-SC1 was a little scuffed but it all works fine.

+1 on pulling the SCC1 fuse to revive a dead unit. This week my Sirius unit died such that the AM/SAT button only displayed AM. I pulled the fuse for five minutes and all is well. I did lose the presets, but that's a small inconvenience. Kudos to PriusChat!

First, thanks to 9G-man for the great writeup. I used it to install the TOY-SC1, putting a SVC-DOC1 in the lower glovebox. I put the antenna on the roof behind the FM antenna and routed the cable to the dash using the Toyota factory instructions. I might move it to the internal spoiler location later.

Two tips that might help others: (1) The bolt holding the wiring harness is 10mm, and can be reached with a socket and 10" extension, (2) I had a problem getting the cable connecting the dock to stay in the TOY-SC1. I solved this with a couple of twist ties.
