I know the 2011 model is supposed to come out this month but does anyone know when exactly? Going to look for awesome financing deals on the 2010 or maybe just pick up a 2011

Then you know more than I do, I am expecting the 2011 model year in September. (I expect minor changes)

Maybe I'm mistaken but I've been under the impression (don't remember why haha) that the 2011 MY comes out in May. Wasn't this new gen Prius released in May of 09?

I don't think that there's been any hints that the 2011's will be out early (this year) - or does someone have any new info to share.

There also were a few rumors floating around about a Prius coupe - but I don't think that we've heard anything definitive or recent.

How do you know this?

This has been discussed a few times, most recently a week or 2 ago--try a search. 2011 production starts September, first deliveries Oct/Nov.

I thought the 2011 was supposed to have a Li-ion battery and plug-in for something like 10 miles. Does anyone know if this has been confirmed.

    There's nothing on "2011 Prius" at pressroom.toyota.com.
That would be very hard to believe if they were scheduled to come out any time soon.
The big 2011 push at the site appears to be for the Avalon.

That's for the Prius that will be released in 2011, I'm assuming as a MY 2012

Read something on MSN, or Yahoo the other day regards new model cars, of which 2011 Prius was one. Nothing on a date for sale. But this new GenIII was an early release, because of it being a NEW generation.
There was talk of the 2011 having a "plug-in" capability, and what they said was 20 miles distance, at 50 to 60mph. The FE will improve to 75mpg as a result.
There's info out there...... if I trip over it again, I'll post it.

Check the Prius and hybrid news forum. Plenty of threads about the plug-in Prius there!

I've been thinking about getting a Prius. Any update on when the 2011 might see the light of day?

Model year 2011 Prius will be a carryover model, not an all-new model like the 2010.

Carryover models are introduced in about Sept. of prior year, so 2011 Prius comes in about Sept. 2010 give or take some weeks.

Thank you JimboPalmer. I wasn't sure if this was for sure or more speculation. Trying not to highjack the thread by how long does it usually take from dealer order to delivery?
