    I would like to put some tints to my gen III, I have read a lot of threads about ceramic tints, Huper Optiks , FormulaOne Pinnacle, Llumar, etc. but most of them have been installed by a dealer and here in Michigan I can’t find any dealer that can install a good quality film. I have fair experience installing car tints by my own, for my previews cars, therefore I would like install them and maybe save me a couple of bucks. So my question is;

    Is there an online store that sells pre cut ceramic tints for a gen III?

    I am also considering a security film from a seller on eBay just because is the best quality film you can find on eBay that will come pre cut for the gen III, and will not interfere with electronics and GPS. What do you guys think?
    Did anyone have installed security films before?

    Does anyone know if a FormulaOne Pinnacle or LLumar authorized dealer will sell and ship computer pre cut films?
    Thanks

    Just a Follow up, I did call to diferent ceramic tint dealers and finally found one that will ship the entire computer pre cut window tint set, Formula One Pinnacle series. For just $175 (except windshield). I found it on the Formula One webpage. I will post some pics on my work after I finish the installation maybe by next week.

    Here are the pictures, Formula one Pinnacle 35 on the front and Pinnacle 15 on the back (including the lower window). It took me about 3 hours to carefully install them. I love the color from the outside and how clear it is from the inside. IMO I like Formula one Pinnacle ceramic film over the Huper Optik ceramic film, I had both samples and HO seems to have a touch of a greener/bluer color, both great films though.

    Looks good ! How well does the pre-cut film work around the sides ? Did you have to tuck the film in the slide guards, or is there a micro gap ?

    Most Tint shops have a device that cuts the tint to the make and model of your car.

    Your best deal is to go to a local tint shop that has the ceramic tint you’re looking for and pay them to install it. It is an art. They can do all 7 windows in 30 minutes with zero flaws.

    I paid $99 out the door including non ceramic tint.

    They fits perfectly I just slide them into the gasket no gaps. The only tricky part was the lower back window which I had to shrink using heat, but overall it was relatively easy to install.

    I agree but like I said before there is no Formula One dealer or HO with ceramic films here in Michigan and if they were, they charged from $325-$475 in average for a Formula One Pinnacle films and $375-$525 for HO films (both ceramics) installed. It took me 3 hrs because I did it very carefully with Zero flaws and I only pay $175 for a good quality ceramic film. Of course you have to have previous experience installing windows tints, if you don’t, don’t do it!
    BTW there are 10 windows (excluding the windshield) in the Prius

    Looks real good, well done on the install job! I couldn't help noticing the headrest on this last shot, almost look like black leather, or is that just the light?

    Nice work on the tint job man. I definitely wouldn't have the courage to do that myself. Looks great! Enjoy it.

    It may be a combination of light and also that I treat the leather with armor all leather care gel

    it gives a darker look to the leather as well.

    I would never do a DIY tint. There are just too many ugly tints on the road and I dont want to be another one.

    Do you have a name and phone number for the shop that you got the pre-cut ceramic tint from. I am in Des Moines, IA and have not been able to find any shops around that even have the ceramic tint and would like to get them shipped if possible.

    I have tinted several cars now and have done just as good as the tint shops and have full confidence in my ability to do the job well.

    Alternatively you can do what I did;
    I went to the formula one webpage (FormulaOne Window Film - High Performance Auto Tint) to search for a list of dealers near my location, then I send an email to the 10 nearest dealers asking for prices and if I can purchase from them only the pre cut set. Then, take the best offer and contact them back.
    good luck!
