I am looking at a couple different prius options and have couple quotes and want to know if these seem like a fair deal. The first is a III with Nav, rear bump applique and mats for 25,276. The next is a III with JBL for 22,276. The last is a II for 21,537. Also how good is the nav in the prius never had nav and not sure if I would use it a lot but I kind of want it just to have it. Thanks

All are about $1k+ less than when I priced/bought mine out last year.

I'd get the II and add AM nav/head unit and some decent speakers for around $1000. You'll get better sound and greatly improved Nav. for less $.

I was quoted $30,700 on Long Island for a Prius IV with solar roof, including mats yesterday. Is this fair?

Members can go to www.aaa.com to build & price a car then get up to 3 dealer quotes.

Over several trips I have found that Toyota's NAV lady is as retarted as Garmin's. It's amusing only when you know better.

    Fair.
    Now that's a word!
It's a very good price for the dealership, and has been considered a good deal for all involved, but that depends on inventory and availability of sunroof IVs.
I sold an older stock unit yesterday for a bunch less than that, but I also have 75+ Prius between what's here and what's coming shortly. Having lots of available product affects "fair" market value ...

When sunroof cars are scarce, that's a good price for you. When they are easily found, and what you want isn't a needle in the haystack, then it's possibly $1000 too high. It depends on color, exact options - it'd help me to know MSRP pricing, and one thing I cannot factor in: availability and Prius market pricing 3,000 miles away.

Funny... I have folks shopping for my pricing from many miles away BEFORE even checking locally! I always felt that was a little wacky... why you'd look 1000+ or 2,000 miles away for pricing prior to checking to see what your local dealer relationship might bring you.

I have given folks unbeatable pricing & shipped many a car to countless other states and even to Northern CA for the past 3 decades on all Toyotas... and Prius since 2001's. At times, it makes sense... especially when I have a car or truck that is unavailable in other areas of the country. :) At times, it's not about the $ per se because shipping isn't cheap. Sometimes, it's about just having the right car available.

To answer your question... I liken it to this phrase to what mom always said when I had lost something and couldn't find it: "You'll find it in the last place you look".
That sort of sums it up for cars.
You'll get your best deal when you just sit down and DO it. If it means the best deal financially, or the best payment, or the best experience... the best trade off on trade appraisal value and difference... or even the fastest deal to get it over with and out to play... or back to work... the trick is, what's the best deal for YOU? If you are leasing, it's not about the price SOLELY... especially if you plan to start with a lease and buy it out at the end.

Find yourself someone to work with that you trust. The best of us in this business are not just "salespeople" - we are trusted consultants who try to impart some wisdom and advice that's not self-serving. Teach you how to know a good deal from a bad one, and understand how things like leasing really work, and how to tell a good lease from a bad one. The best deal on the planet, ie. the best pricing, is just one small component of the whole deal.

The price seems a bit high. But it depends on your area and market. I find the Midwest to be higher than other regions. But, I was doing some shopping and was going to get a III with solar (which includes navi) and floor and cargo mats for $25,830 including destination. The MSRP was $28,580. So, with that number the price seems high for the III with navi, bumper applique, and floor and cargo mats.
