Hate to butt in, my 2010 Honda insight got 410 miles on one fill up! Half Highway/half city...
Warm weather is returning, so you should start getting respectable tanks soon. After a long winter lull, I'm getting tanks over 500 miles again. At sea level even. The Accord it replaces could do that only at higher elevation. I'll never get the 1000 mile tanks that the serious GenII folks can achieve. But I do expect to break 1000 km sometime.
I've been getting a little over 50 MPG and average about 485 miles per tank. I drive it like a normal car but do try to use the battery and charge up using the various regeneration features whenever I can.
I just filled up today, I was approximately 70 miles past empty, filled up with 11.35 gallons for 625 miles from the last refill!
5 days went by and I had to fill up again. Things are looking better. I got 591 miles on the last tank. it is close to 60MPG.
As I drive about 75 miles a day, I fill up in the evening when the car icon says I have under 75 miles left. This usually gives me about 390-430 miles per tank at 8+ to 9+ gallons. Not as good as a number of folks here, but not too bad for a 70 mph driver.
I usually get 10-11 gallons in per tank at 52-60mpg avg on my Gen III so close to 600miles per tank. I have several friends with Gen IIs and pretty consistently beat them 3-5mpg.
I also get around 375-400 max! My 2008 Gen 2 did better (at least 450 miles) although the tank is supposed to be the same size. I still appear to get the 47mpg avg, but it doesn't make sense. There is definitely something other than personal driving habits. I've tried eco mode, non eco mode and it doesn't make a significant difference.
After owning two Priuses (2004-2010) I'm getting great mileage. 2004 was getting just under 500 miles per tank. 2010 is getting just under 600 miles per tank I have learned the sweet spots on both vehicles and am very pleased!
Excluding the first tank, I have ranged between 375 and 502 miles. I don't necessarily wait until the last pip. I typically get gas at Costco for the 4% discount and if I'm there to shop but not quite empty I'll go ahead and fill up.
