    Oh one last word of warning:

    DO NOT JUMP the other person's car backwards. Do not short circuit your jumper cables by tapping them together to make a spark.

    If you screw up, you'll be in for a VERY EXPENSIVE repair.

    Has anyone looked at the +12v connection that your supposed to attach too?
    It looks like a piece of jewelry!

    JayMan, You're a genius. Thank you. I got my car started. But why would it have gone dead? I would (almost) swear I did not leave the lights on (it was daytime when I shut it off).

    The most common reason is leaving a door or the hatch ajar. Get into the habit of always locking your Prius. It will beep at you and refuse to lock if any of the doors are ajar.
