This subject seems to have died as of mid-May, seems this crowd is mostly a cashing paying group.

I would like to know if anyone has leased the Gen. III and if so, what residual values and money factors are common? Does having Tier 1 credit mean a much better MF? What about disposition fee?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

We use, pretty exclusively, Toyota's lease bank. (TFS) doesn't have a disposition fee or any crazy junk fees. Like Lexus, all leases have an inception fee that's paid by the consumer, and it's added to the car's cost. For Toyota, it's been $650 for a while now. Other lease banks add even more, and have lease end fees that are $350-500 or more.

A III with NAV and 36 month, 12K annual mileage has a 16,495 residual right now. It's around $26.5K at window with alarm, white pearl paint, mats, and NAV. Lease rates are running anywhere from .00285 to way higher depending on fico score.

If I were selling your car to you, let's say a white one we have coming soon, that specific car should lease around 415 + tax.
If a car had less stuff, like no white paint upcharge, no added alarm, mats etc, it would be around 400-ish. Add your LA tax monthly to that. Want a cheaper payment? Go 48 months or add cash to it.

That payment is way too high on a package 3 Nav. It should be around $370 including tax (with Nav.) No Nav should be $321 a month including tax, $2k down, that's what I have.

In early October, Toyota increased the residuals on all Prius. As we all know, things change -- they really jumped the residuals in IV and V package cars... meaning if you did a lease between May 29th of this year and October, you are actually bound to have some lease end equity if your car's in great shape lease end and fuel stays where it is or higher.

The pricing of the cars rising $400 + the addition of the $680 of safety connect+ USB on IV and V and just the USB at $280 for the III complicates a comparison between then and now.

That said, they also lowered residuals on V8 vehicles, planning for their long term financial future.

A III right now sold at MSRP with no extras, just the EJ audio and mats is $337.00 a month plus tax ... so depending on your tax rate, it's "around" $370 a month now for the "base" III. :)

When I posted those were the rates, and residuals for that June 2009 period of time.

I'm resurrecting this one. Dianne, would you know what the money factor for tier1+ is now? Also, what would be the best payments one could expect with absolutely 0 down at signing for a white Prius 4 w/ solar/navi package?

    Many Thanks

    Hey folks,

Just throwing my lease details down for posterity. 2010 Prius III with Solar, Northern New Jersey:

    $3,000 down
    15K/year
    $239/month (including tax)
    36 months

This was the dealer's offer. I ran a quote for myself (using the basic depreciation model-dealer hooked me up with the residual values-and the current Money Factor of .00075) and realized I should be paying around $270 after tax. Seems like this is quite a deal! Let me know otherwise.

    Here's my details.

$0 down (not including first payment which was required at signing)
    12k/year
    $257/month (including tax)
    36 months
    Tier 1
    Toyota Finance
    Prius II

Sticker price was listed as 24,340.00

It's also my first Toyota. I'm beyond pleased w/ everything so far. Wish I had one years ago.....

Currently have a lease quote on a Prius IV, no extras 36 months, 15k miles, $0 due at signing + GAP $340.55/month. The selling price is 26,657

I don't know how these dealers come up with some of these quotes though. Got a lease quote from Russel Toyota. Prius IV with Nav, same lease conditions, selling price on their website is 26,003 yet they come up with a lease quote of $397/month!

Leased a 2010 Package V with Navi, some mats and $220 paint upcharge just this week. The sticker was like $31,360. Sale price was $29,200ish. I did a 36month/12K lease with $800 due at signing. My payment is $315 with tax included. Originally I was offered a Pkg III with mats and a cargo thing, msrp was around $24,819. $600 due at signing and 36/12K for $242 with tax. I believe both sale prices were somewhere around $350 below invoice which ends up being a bit more than $2000 of sticker. The $750 rebate is not eligible for leases. Hope this helps.

With zero down my place was offering $279. How did you get such a freaking great deal? waaah

How many years? I'll assume 3.

I wouldn't put the $4k down. You should generally never put money down on a lease because should the vehicle be totalled, you will loose that money. You're just prepaying lease payments upfront.

Better to put the $4,000 in a bank account and make payments out of it until its gone, or make part of each payment out of it until its gone. Depending on the residuals and money factor every $1,000 is about $25 a month. So even if you paid $300 a month with nothing down, and put that $4,000 in a savings account, if you paid $100 worth of the payment out of that account, it would last the whole 36 months, your effective payment would still be $200 a month...and the money would not be at risk.

They paid all DMV fee, taxes, security deposit, acquisition fee, and first month, ZERO out of pocket. They are running the ad again this weekend.

Got my Toyota dealer on the line for the following... unless we change our minds we should pick it up saturday.

Toyota is buying out my current Honda Civic lease with 9 months remaining on it
    2010 Prius II
    12,000 miles per year
    $0 down
$280 per month with taxes and all that good stuff.

we feel we are getting a decent deal given that we want to get a 4 door because we are expecting our first child in about 5 months. and the prius is only $5 more per month than my 2008 civic.... maybe not the best deal but not too shabby.

Unless your Civic was an Si, I think that's a pretty good deal! The MSRP on a Prius II is well over that of a Base Civic LX 4 door, and your getting more room and way better gas mileage!

Just a base 2008 civic LX coupe 19,500 miles. We drove the prius the other day and were very pleased...so it was kinda of an easy choice. We recently replaced our Yaris with a Scion XB so this will help offset the gas milage on that change.
Pretty excited to pick it up this weekend!

Well...they didn't pay them. They built them into the lease...
