Dealer installed option: Complete Theft Protection ??

    Does anyone else have this or has anyone even seen/heard of it? I purchased from dealer stock and it was on an addendum. However, no one at the dealer could tell me what it was! Crazy, I know. Suggestions? And if it's what a previous poster described, I'm going in there Monday and getting my $ back for it.

    Any chance it is the KARR alarm system? I have it too. It doesn't do much over the OEM one except to cut off the fuel feed, disable the engine and if someone bumps your car, there is a brief warning before the motion detector alarm goes off. There would be a small button and blue flashing LED on the lower left of the dash above the parking brake.

    How much? Southeast Toyota Distributor has VIN etching on the windows as one part of their ToyoGuard package, any chance it's that?

    No small blue LED, key is a stock key. Dealer installed option addendum saya:
    "Complete Theft Protection Package $349.00"

    The windows are etched with: NICB Traceable, A0XXXXXXXX, and then a 1800 number.

    Nope - you don't have the KARR system (BTW it's a rip off). The KARR system is a dealer added alarm that further enhances the OEM system, but it costs around $700. Mine was tossed in with the deal after I complained since it was put on before I purchased my Prius.
    If anyone here has the KARR system, you cannot change the remote to "one click opens all doors". I had the dealer do that and the KARR system messed up big time. I had to have it reverted to get it working properly again.

    I think the $349 cost is for the window etching. It is a waste of money, does not deter theft of vehicle..

    Wow...$349 to etch the windows?? How is that a "Complete Theft Protection System"?
    I guess Toyota has to pass their losses on one way or another! ;-)
