Been reaching out to a bunch of dealers in MA...
best price so far for a Prius II

    $21,400
    + $298 dealer documentation fee.
    + Tax (.0625% ) / Registration / plates

I've gotten other deals that are kinda close, but muddy the waters with stuff like specific dealer intensives like oil changes and stuff.

    ie.
    $22,095
    + $250 dealer documentation fee.
    + Tax (.0625% ) / Registration / plates
"Toyota will pick up the first five 5,000 mile scheduled services for your Toyota vehicle at no cost to you."

I'm pretty sure both of these are just the base Prius II model, with maybe floor mats. (which I don't even care about)

Thanks for any input anyone can offer.

    Where in MA are you?

I've purchased my last 3 cars from Ira Toyota in Danvers including my 2010 last week and my 2009 about 16 months ago...both good experiences and fair pricing. I can give you the names of a salesperson, sales manager and finance manager to work with if you are close enough to go there.

Honestly, Matt. I don't care how far I may have to go - I'd even consider out of state if I thought it meant I could get an even better quote.
That being said, Danvers isn't out of the question. If you have a contact point there, please feel free to provide it to me and I will contact them, instead of going through their website for some general internet sales manager.

good stuff thanks. I'll reach out and see what I can find out.

I'm pretty much set on what I want - a base II model with out any extras. Only thing I'm considering is an alarm system, as I don't know if the base car has an alarm system which insurance companies will discount your insurance for.

Copied from my post under "Prices Paid..." thread. I just bought my second model II (leased the first one) as it has everything I need, and I couldn't be happier. Good hunting to you this Holiday weekend!

We live in Chicagoland. Leased a 2010 Prius II in March during best incentive month for $199/month with $1397 down, 36 months/36K miles. Have been so impressed with the car sold my Mazda5 and just bought a second one tonight (leased the first one, bought this one outright). Here are the particulars:

    Prius II, Blizzard Pearl
Floor Mats, Rear Bumper Applique, Cargo Net
    MSRP $24,090

    $20,788 + $154 doc + $145 title/plate transfer + 7% sales tax

    $22,632 out the door

    Nice price on that!!

What really surprised me was the fact that the prices now, at the end of the month are pretty much the same as they were in the middle or beginning of the month. Even the quote I got above, a friend of mine got the exact same 15 days ag
ago. I'd think there would be sone wiggle room with their first(best?) offer.

Otherwise what's the point of waiting till the end of the month?

Thanks. I am quite happy with both the deal and the car.

Maybe not quite close enough to the end of the month. Having worked in the auto industry in the past, there will be breakpoints whereby sales above a certain threshold will generate manufacturer bonus payments to the dealer on all cars sold during that period, not just those above the threshold. So, theoretically, a dealer can make more money selling the last car that takes them across that threshold, even if they lose a ton on that individual car. Your best chance to capitalize on that is to float your most aggressive offer that would normally be rejected past lots of dealers on the last day of the period, and see if anyone bites. If you don't find it, don't wait forever and deny yourself the car you want over a couple hundred bucks; you'll make it back quick and never look back. Best of luck to you.

so.. Matt - thanks for the contact point, if I didn't land a deal today I would have been in touch with him tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to call him directly, but I would have if I was going to go to another dealer tomorrow (one of theirs, but not that one specifically)

So, ended up closing on a Prius II - Winter Grey, with dark grey interior. Do you know how hard it is to find this combination??? We ended up buying one that they will be getting delivery of this week - so I haven't even seen it.

It comes with floor mats, and rear bumper applique.
    msrp: 23,819.

    $21,150 + $298 Doc + $125 title - $800 (trade in) + 6.25% tax ($1271.88)

    $22,044 out the door.
($22,844 - if you factor back in the money I got for the trade)

I'm pretty stoked... had some issues with people understanding that we don't want the Mist Grey interior (FB 60) but rather the Dark Grey interior! (FB10)
Yes we all know these codes now :)

Thanks for the feedback guys - and I'll have to snap some pics after the car arrives :)
