    hi guys,
Any advice on where should I take the car for a health check? I live in Georgia,US. Will Firestone or PepBoys be able to check the battery health and hybrid drive train? Or should I take the car to a Toyota dealer to check for any problems before I buy it?

    TIA,
    Vasu

I would think they couldn't help as much as a toyota dealer would.

Why don't you buy a Gen II instead? Better and
younger traction battery, and a Gen II with similar
mileage* should be easy to find and equally
    affordable.

*though, personally, I would try to get one
below 100k miles so that you still have some
    warranty on the traction battery.

The gen1/gen2 decision is yours of course. In either case, A Toyota shop shop be able to provide you with the vehicle's official service records based on the VIN. This could be very useful to determine whether your chosen car is a good one.

    Thanks for the tips guys!
But the car tuned out to be in a nasty condition, so I didn't even take it for inspection.
Will shop around for better ones!
