Does anyone know if you can adjust the height of the low beams? I have read the manual cover to cover (yeah I am one of those) but I am unable to determine how/if this can be done. If someone knows how could you post a pic of where under the hood I should be looking?

Yes, the lights can be raised. You cannot raise just the low beam, however. Look under the hood at the right and left light. Between the bulbs a black plastic shape protudes back towards the rear. In the center of the projection is a hex nut (3/8" as I recall). Turning the nut counter clockwise will raise the lights.

    Good luck.

Keep in mind that this does not change the headlight height, but simply adjusts the alignment.

does that work to lower the lights? Although I like the headlights the way that they are, no one else seems to and I get flashed quite a bit :(

Don't you have the little adjuster between the steering wheel and the door? Or is it just a euro spec thing?

Not in the US--they don't trust us to adjust them easily.

I agree. I don't see the road so well on low beams on my 1 month old car. Maybe they are set too high. I'll have them adjusted.

Isn't there some specific aiming information so we don't all go around annoying other people? I doubt that they want people to aim headlights on personal opinion as to what is right. The cutoff line is so abrupt that it does seem to limit range, but I will wait to find some uniform aiming point before I start raising my lights.

Well you would have to believe that they were aimed at the factory to spec. That is way too low for me. I adjusted to where the beam lies across the middle of the trunk on another smaller car ahead of me (without casting the light into their rearview). Seems to work fine.

Raised mine 2 full turns till folks started flashing at me. Backed off 1 turn and all is well.

Yes there is Joe, here are three links you can check out and there are a bunch more as well. I just aimed mine to where they looked OK to me then went for a long drive at night on a 2 lane highway. No one flashed me to dim my lights so I figure they are OK.

I have a copy of the specific procedure from Toyota for aiming the Gen III LED headlights.

I'd be happy to post it if someone would like.

I've never seen the adjuster on the dash anywhere but Europe.

Yes it is the EU (minimally) regulation and US cars are not equipped with the control (they have a dash dimmer regulator in that place, instead of our eletronic version). Just notice that you can just lower the beams depending on how many people on rear seats and the cargo load.

2010 Prius II Standard FIXED headlight Adjustment?

2010 Prius II Standard FIXED headlight Adjustment?
My wife hit a deer (10PT! She sort of spanked it and it ran away). Bent the radiator core support, Bumper, Hood, and passenger side headlight assembly. Repairs 'look' good but Passenger Side headlight alignments were lower by 5" at 4' from a wall. The 8mm bolt adjusted the hight of the High Beam but the Low beam did not follow. I have the original Headlight Assembly they replaced with a new one and there is no obvious Low Beam adjustment. There is a ring with 3 screws but there's no 'cam' or obvious other adjustment. So the question is... Is there a low beam adjustment? If not then why is the low beam still low?

I checked the Toyota service manual section that deals with headlights (both LED and halogen), hi and low beam are both adjusted together by the bolt/toothed ring on the back of the assembly.Try adjusting the low beam to be the same as the other side and the highs should be about the same also.

If yours are not it could be a defective assembly? Can you just take it back to the shop that did the work and ask them to fix it?
