I've been researching getting rain deflectors for my 2001 Prius. Nobody makes them, so I pulled a couple of photos of my 2001 Prius and a 2001-2002 Toyota Corolla to see if their side window profiles were similar. It looks like they are, if you buy the type of window deflectors that stick on to the outside of the door frame, not the kind that insert into the window/glass frame. Has anyone tried this yet to see if they are close enough. I like the kind that use the double side stick/tape anyways.

Let me suggest taking a piece of cardboard large enough to fit the window profile. With a helper, scissors and a felt pen, trim the cardboard until it is a perfect copy of the window outlines. Then take these cardboard templates to a auto parts store and compare to the various rain guards. You can get one a little larger and trim it down to fit.

I ordered some Ford Focus rain guards and the rear window works fine with a little silicon sealant. However, the front were too short.

    GOOD LUCK!

Or you could just get the japanese OEM window visors that were made for the prius by toyota. Yeah they only came out in japan but thats just minor details. If your actually interested in a set I have 1 set of all 4 windows I am willing to part with. These are extremely rare especially just having them in america. Let me know. Located in california

What are you asking for them? $$$

But could you at the very least for who ever doesn't get the high bid, make templates like Mr. Wilson said out of cardboard or heavy paper, and send them out to those would would like a template set, so we could take to an auto accessory store, and find similar shaped units for our cars.

Actually if you could take a photo with a zoom lense at maximum range, to flatten the field of view, with a yard stick, that would be enough. Zoom for maximum distance and then position the camera so the edges approach the field of view would be perfect. You want the camera to be at a 90 degree angle relative to the pieces.

We can load the photos in cad or even PowerPoint and measure the lengths and angles. These can be used to make templates to find 3d party, equivalent, rain shields (or oversized that can be trimmed down.) A little oversized is OK but they don't stretch very well. <grins>

I'm not in the market for these rain shields but would be interested in the front window template (or I'll make my own.) <grins>

Anyone know if the NHW10 (1997-2001 Japan model) and the NHW 11 (2001-2003 USA model) are exactly the same on the outside?

I've found someone in Japan that has them for the NHW10. I have a 2001 Prius (USA version) but before I buy I need to make sure the window dimensions are exactly the same.

I don't think that it was 2001, but around 2003, Corrolla adopted the same body as the 2001 Prius with minor changes to hood and trunk. It used that body until around 2008 or 2009. I am almost certain that if you can find rain deflectors for that model of Corrolla they will fit the Prius. Somebody on this forum should have definite information about which modlels of Corrolla used the Prius body.

Took a chance and ordered the 2003 Corolla rain deflectors on eBay right now for $31 shipped. While not a perfect fit they certainly fit good enough and look pretty good for my liking anyhow. Photos here:
