Ipod2Car, where are you putting the iPod?

I've been reading about the iPod connector devices, and am considering the ipod2car. I was wondering though, where have y'all been installing the wiring to, and where have you been stashing the iPod? I am a little bit hesitant to make any permanent modifications to the plastic, like screwing in an iPod holder (stickon is OK), but I could probably convince myself to drill a small hole if necessary and out of the way. I would appreciate any descriptions you might have.
    Cheers,
    Sara

I ran the wire under the carpet and put it into the small black drawer under the cupholders. I just drilled a small hole in the back of the drawer to make it work and it has ample cord in there so that the back seat passengers can handle the iPod and pick their songs. Then I usually just prop the iPod in the front cupholder then tuck the cord in right below it into the draw so it looks nice. When I leave the car I just toss the iPod in the draw and close it and no traces of iPod found! :)

That sounds pretty awesome, though I thought it was poor etiquette to touch another person's audio gear :^) Just kidding. I was thinking somewhere in the center console or glove boxes might be handy, depending on what I discover when I start disassembling my car.

THank you very much for sharing!

I installed an ipod2car about a week ago. I drilled a hole in the back of the box beneath the stereo and passed the cord through there. When I'm not using the ipod I just put the cord in there and close the door. I used a Dremel tool to put a notch in the door just big enough for the cord to go through. It's low on the left side. So I can feed the cord out and still close the door. The notch is low enough that you would have to lower your head to see it. I have the ipod holder from Proclip. It puts the ipod to the left of the MFD. It does not require any holes to be drilled. It comes with adhesive, but is not required. It clips solidly to the dash.

How about the drawer below the center console cupholders... that would allow you to leave the ipod in the car without worrying about theft, since basically nobody knows about that drawer (including many Prius owners)!

What Drawer beneath the center console?! Lol...Just kidding...I was thinking that would be the best place for it. I'm just waiting for the harness in the mail to do the install.

Awesome! THank you so much! My drill will be pleased that it will be put to work for the non-visible modifications.
