Normal operation shouldn't put much pressure on the glued joint so I don't suspect any problems once in place.
I also just remembered a post by Jimbo I think about some liner material for the glove box that looked great. I think I will try to find some of that.
As far as junk yards up here... we have very limited stock. Not that many cars in all. Even if there was a box, I suspect it wouldn't be cheap.
    Have a good day T.

I haven't actually, that would have been good in hindsight. But after about 4-5 times now, I think I have it down. Thanks for the tip though!

Got the box back in and the glue is holding just fine and it operates just fine. Dodged that $200/$400 bullet. :)

Note: This is a pre-2010 Prius cabin air filter change - the 2010 does not have a plastic removable tray that the filter fits into.

Do you know if anyone has documented the 2010 cabin air filter change?

Next time someone does it, record a video!!

The user manual says that the air filter can just be washed off. Is it better to just replace it, or can you wash it off and not keep having to buy new ones?

I tried washing mine and letting it dry. I was hesitant doing this with a paper type filter but it dried nicely and seems to be working fine. I plan to pull it this weekend and check it again.

The manual specifically says to not use water, but to clean it with compressed air, blowing from the clean side. But if it works for you, don't let me stop you...

Understood. I could not find a replacement at the auto parts store at the time and I had blown mine out with compressed air but there it was still a gray film on the inlet side that was apparently very small particles. So, I tried washing it and surprisingly it cleaned up and dried very nicely. Checked it this weekend and it is doing fine.

The auto parts store now has the filters for the 2010 Prius, so I will change it out shortly.
