    Me too!
The BP oil spill also put me over the edge. I don't care if "the gas savings don't add up" as some naysayers like to squawk. I'm tired of the oil companies and the hostile oil nations (Venezuela, Iran, etc.)! It's time we moved on to another primary energy source and I think the USA has the brains and talent to do it.

I think I got a pretty good deal on the 2010 Prius II lease.

    12k/36mo $800 down with a $220 a month payment.

    Whatcha folks think?

So I decided to go ahead and make the big purchase.

We got a brand new red Prius III with navigation for 24,600, I bought the extended warranty for 1180, taxes and fees and all that my monthly payments going to be around 435 bucks. What really kicked nice person was that we got the .9 % financing.

Overall I'm pretty happy with everything. I wish I didn't get the extended warranty but it made my woman feel better so I guess that's worth it for 7 years no? Haha.

I spent about a week and a half finagling with about 12 dealerships (some not Toyota) sometimes over 12 hours a day. I feel like I could write a research paper on how to buy a Prius for a good price. It's been a long anxious and stressful journey to be sure, this was the first brand new car I ever bought.

I really hope I enjoy this car over the years. I'm a big fan of this website!

I'm looking to purchase a new 2010 Prius II/III in about 3 more weeks in SoCal(LA), so anyone have any idea of a general OTD price? No options, color doesn't really matter, just trying to get a good deal. Trying to see if the Prius is the right car for me(at least price wise).
    Thanks!

Just got a III w/NAV and accessory pkg (mats, cargo net, and 1st aid kit). Sticker was $27090. Paid $24333. OTD was $27169. At Hooman Toyota of Long Beach. Speak to Amadou. He sounds aggressive on the phone but is really a nice guy.

he said plus freight which could mean that he didn't include the destination charge of $750

So all the fees will be about another $2.5k-ish, so maybe a little under 25k for the II? I guess the Prius might be a bit too much for me. When will the 2011s come out? I'll need a car by mid August, so if I can't get one for a decent price, I might end up with a mazda 3 =/

Even though the current Mazda3 platform is six years old now, it's still a solid choice (esp the 5-door). With new competitors fast approaching (the now-available Ford Fiesta and soon to be introduced 2012 Focus and Mazda2), there may be some good upcoming deals on the rarely discounted 3.

If only Mazda hadn't fouled-up the front end with that Joker-grin grille.

Right, add $750 for freight. They advertised it at $21,539+TTF so that's what I got it at.

get the prius. its not that much more. I paid $24.5k out the door for my Prius II. the fees and taxes are sales tax and title fees, and they come with every car.

If you don't have the cash, you can always do the 60 month financing, i think its only 1.9% or so.

I want to buy a new IV with the sunroof package. I've reviewed recent prices here and think $28,250 (plus tax & tags) is within reason now. Does this seem right? Would love to get feedback from anyone with recent experience of this version. I also live in So Cal so any buying advice for this area appreciated as well.

I agree, Truecar pricing is higher.I think you are better off using this site and other resources to deal. I don't find truecar up to date on its pricing ranges..
