Anyone heard of ReGo and this $5000 Lithium ion conversion?

It looks like he's only done 2 conversions. You need to find out who makes their kits. Their web site says "plugin conversions" ... which IS a name of a reputable company, but the context is wrong, as though either saying "plugin conversions" to make you "think" its a plugin conversion ... or maybe it was simply the way they worded their web site. You need to do more homework, but at face value, it looks like they're a new company and thus it may be too early to tell how they'll do. Best to go with folks that have been around, and have a history of reliability, character, and integrity.

From the pictures it looks like a straight up Enginer system...

EDIT: Definitely just an Enginer system.

So it's the guys with that lead-acid system doing it with lithium ion instead? I'm not planning on getting a system right now- just curious.

    Enginer is lithium, not SLA

I guess I have to review my aftermarket systems :)

So it's an independent company putting the 4KW Enginer system in for what I guess is a $2500 installation fee. I thought it was something new that I hadn't seen before on the forum. Thanks.

ReGo is an independent, authorized Enginer installer.

The difference is that they handle all the interactions with Enginer regarding the kits. You have no need to contact Enginer directly should there be any questions. To many people that may be worth the additional fee.

My understanding is that you can buy the kits through them as well as any additional components you may want in the future. (Call them to confirm this.)

I spoke with them a while back and they seemed like good guys.

It looks like they do some customization to the kit including heaters for the cold Minnesota winter.

Read through their Frequently Asked Questions page for more info: http://regoelectric.com/faq/

I'm a co-owner of ReGo Electric Conversions. We've been doing R&D for about 2 years and just recently launched our retail hybrid plug-in conversion services in Minnesota. The goal of our company has been to provide cost effective, reliable and accessible electric car conversions. To achieve this, we are balancing price point with a high level of customer service and use-ability features that open up the conversion market to a wider, non-technical audience.

As Eric pointed out (thanks Eric), we directly provide all the service and follow up needed to keep our plug-in conversions functioning at a high level. We include our own two year warranty on labor as well as a two year manufacturer's warranty on parts. We also provide our own 60 day satisfaction guarantee. We are working with Enginer to provide the base components for our current system. However, we are pre-testing and upgrading all our systems to achieve higher performance and safety in our cold climate, including adding heating and insulation. Our comprehensive approach is to try to provide everything our customers need to start saving fuel and lowering emission as soon as they drive out the door.

You can find more info on who we are and why we're doing it on our website.

    thanks!
    Alex

Good luck you guys - I look forward to hearing from satisfied customers. I'm curious what kind of stuff is being modded on the enginer kits for cold climate driving

I talked to one of their employees at the MN state fair this last year. I would love to convert my Prius but am on the fence over DIY or having ReGo do it. The more I read the more I lean towards ReGo as they have the system for MN climate. But more important they dial it in. Unfortunately the tax credit expired so it now costs $6k.

I just revisited their very informative and upfront website today and noticed they now have a $13.5k 100+mpg option. Anyone know if that's an Engineer 8kwh kit, Plug-in Supply/Solutions 10kwh kit, or maybe their own?
