Depends on what you want to live with. That looks pretty deep and long (1/2" guessing). With that, I would probably take it into the shop.

 

That's very unfortunate. I had a similar mishap with my prior car and tried to fix it myself. I used professional bondo (with hardener) and then lightly sanded the damaged area with 600 grit paper. I thought I could carefully paint the repaired area which was flat again, but the match could not be made even with buffing.

Getting back on topic: Kimoy, a deep scratch is very disheartening to discover - however it got there. As I described, someone put a deep scratch in my previous car in a parking lot. From what you say, this one looks like it requires a professional repair, unfortunately.

OP, I'd say you'll have to go to a shop and have it fixed.
You could try this, but I think that scratch is to deep for it:

3M Scratch Removal System, 3M Scratch Remover Kit, scratch repair, remove scratches

 

If the paint is still new a good painter can paint the area and then blend in.....Is the color Grey?
