Got a Toy-SC1 and SCC1 to change my factory XM to Sirius but cannot locate the XM tuner to disconnect it. Any ideas? The JBL amp is under the passenger seat and there's nothing under the drivers seat. Can't see anything behind the glove box.

    Thoughts?

Probably under the rear seat. That's where my XM tuner is on my 2007 Prius. Marvin

I assume the tuner is integral to the JBL head unit. When I changed mine out, the XM antenna lead plugged straight into the back of the head unit. I subsequently reused the antenna connection for the Pioneer XM tuner I installed.

Hmm I'll try that tomorrow. The ONLY thing I didn't unplug was a blue wire because it looked like a single strand vs multiple cables in a clip like the Sirius adapter has. Though I do think it seems unlikely due to the fact the add-on tuner is larger. But I guess it could be particularly since the "XM" designation in the band selector is set in the unit itself.

One other thing did the Pioneer unit need an auxiliary XM receiver or was it built into the headunit itself?

The antenna wire is different than the XM/Sirius standard, but you can buy an adapter cable (requires a slight change of the adapter cable). As for the pioneer head unit, you do need to buy (and install) a seperate XM (or Sirius) tuner. The tuner connects to the Pioneer head unit with a proprietary Pioneer cable.

Thanks. I've seen some posts about the XM being integrated to the HU like you said. Tmrw I will try it with just disconnecting the antenna. Its using the same port as the iPod connector and some posts about that with the III make me wonder if it'll work. We'll see!

Well looks like the TOY-SC1 and SCC1 are going back. The XM is integrated into the head unit, just like mblue99 suggested (thanks for the tip!) Even disconnecting the antenna didn't trick it, it just kept displaying ANTENNA on the screen. I read about the iPod integration kit and I believe this uses the same port as that, but no amount of cycling car power could get it to recognize the Sirius. I've already put the dash back together and installed my plug-n-play. Oh well!

Do you remember what the antenna looked like? Was it a "regular" XM/Sirius type of connector or was it a square connector?

    It was square.
