I was on coastal tech's website, and it shows a lock pick device that they offer that unlocks everything in the toyota navigation system. Has anyone purchased this, or have any ideas about it? I watched the video and it seemed pretty legit. Let me know if anyone knows anything about this...thanks

Coastal makes excellent products for the Prius and it will work as advertised. The only complaints you'll hear from Coastal is that their customer service can really suck at times. If, however, they have the product you ordered in stock you'll recieve it promptly and they seem to have good customer support if you have installation difficulties.

Also make sure what you order will work for your car. For example, the NAV kit (no BT) emulates the software override sequence that works on a 2004-2005 Prius, but not on a 2006.

I have that kit (after waiting several months) and it was easy to install and works great.

I, too, ordered from CoastalEtech(Feb2005) and never received. Verified by phone that every couple months that my order was still waiting. However, I'll try again. Really would like video input (camera/carputer) so I can play with some toys.

The biggest feature of the base lockpick is the nav override (menu -> volume -> top left, bottom left, top left, bottom left, hold-override) keypress which I learned about a month ago. As often as I use this feature, it would be nice to automate it.

Would really like to see the hardware and/or specs on the lockpick tho before buying.

I purchased, received and installed myself using just their instructions the ultimate lock pick, the stealth electric only kit, adaptor on power kit, and the i-link kit. All worked as advertized and I am happy with all except the I-link. I have so far been unable to get audio. I get video but no audio yet, probably my connections. The items were "in stock" when I ordered and were delivered promptly.

I recently installed the Ultimate Lockpick in my 2007 Prius and it works beautifully. I paid to have it installed by a local auto radio shop and while there decided to go the whole nine yards and have a DVD player installed in the small compartment located under the stereo. Now I can view DVDs on the nav screen and hear the audio through the JBL speakers. Very cool. The best feature for me, however, is the unlocking of the phone features while driving. I find it much easier and safer to place calls using the large buttons in the phone book versus the small buttons or voice command feature on my phone. I also love the ability to switch bluetooth phones on the fly. It is also very nice to have access to the Destination features when moving at speeds greater than 5-7 mph!

All in all I rate it a fantastic product.

Again bringing up an old thread ...

Can someone tell me exactly what the ULTIMATE Lock Pick allows you to do with your phone that the basic Lock Pick doesn't? Do these work fine on the '08s? I have bluetooth in my car now and I can dial by voice # by # ... can I do that in the Prius w/o the Lock Pick?

Any info would be great! Thanks!

What I can't do in my 2010 Prius drives me crazy: scroll music selections from the iPod adapter. Scroll buttons disable when you start moving, pretty silly, you can still select anything on the screen, navigate between many screens, just can't scroll. The iPod adapter is hooked into the DVD input, that is what I select on the display to play iPod stuff. If the $99 Lockpick does the trick I may go for it.

It's time for me to get this gadget for my 05 Prius. I went to Coastal and ordered a 'basic lockpick 1' which, the website explains, is now a new-and-improved 'basic lockpick 1b v.2'. It was $99 plus s/h, and they promise that (a) it will work to restore the override on the 04-05 Prius, and (b) it is compatible with 'all versions of Toyota/Lexus mapping software.' I'll post again when I get it. Anybody else have any experience with this gadget?

Anyone know if the new version will work with the 2010 Prius? Is the DVD Nav Unit even under the front seat of the 2010 Prius?
