Because your wife would kick your nice person for going to look at a Prius. And you know it. You are too funny, girlie "man".

Please don't buy a Prius. You could ruin the Prius image as a car bought by people who use their brains.

I wonder if when a troll like this shows up the moderators think to contact the moderators at the diesel site that seemed to be trolling us last year and check isp numbers for trolling activity, this guy is playing this forum very skillfully.

Yeah...well Harrison Ford drives a Prius--also 6 airplanes and a helicopter. You know who he is, don't you? Larry Hagman, too. Plus a few other rich Hollywood studs.

Administrators seem to be remarkably liberal in these chatgroups regarding threads. Any Tom, Dick and Harry can come into a newsgroup like this one and post any type of thread--without any real post history--or proof that they even own a Prius. The result is often agenda-ridden garbage. With the political stuff--especially from the well-organized Right--you wonder if some of these trolls are on a payroll.

Yes, I have gotten the brochure, and yes I have test drove one (and really like it, I might add). Thank you for your comments, and I think even Mike V will be somewhat pleased (or not) with the fact that I am currently researching the PHV Prius very, very hard.. and starting to try and get my wife to understand my reasons for wanting one.

Well said, Skoorb! "Down here" in Louisiana especially if you are a "Coach".. you GOTTA drive that big truck!!!!
Everywhere you look there are SUV's, and big, big trucks... the "economic" cars are few and far between, and belong to the "women folk"... such is our culture..
Heck we make our living based on OIL...
Just to give you some perspective...

I have actually done that with a Dodge salesman a few years ago when we bought my wife her first Quest.. proudly drove it up to the dealership, and showed the sales manager our new ride.. and let him know that due to his sales's staff incompetence we went in another direction...

Maybe I'm out of balance here.
But sincerely, I find the whole idea of comparing car ownership and supposed levels of manhood- so ridiculous that I can't take it serious.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my post(s). And I just find a lot of the reactions and posts "funny"....even if some of them are simple trolling.

BTW, that car salesman reminds me of the old car salesman boss from the TV show The Middle, if you know what I'm talking about. LOL

Teehee -- This is all so great reading for my coffee break. Well, actually, tea, with a touch of cream but let's stay on topic... See, about a month ago, I traded in our little pink VW Bug for one of those very cute silver Pri-i honeys... Sure, the CarMax sales agent (you guess the gender) was a little stiff and awkward at first, but then I meowed and purred about "buying today" and he cuddled right up to me (or maybe that was my wallet?). Gotta run and go fluff the couch pillows. Lady's Book Club meets in a few minutes...

MV -- We DID made up a sign -- permamarker on white paper; low-tech but it makes the point. Guess we are guilty of promoting Hate Groups, but what-me-worry?! Well, the original idea came when this idiot kept racing by in big gas hog on MA Turnpike, only for us to catch up due to heavy traffic. It was a bit of a nasty poke, but we just felt compelled at the time...

BTW, we also identified his suburban cousin, that YummyMummy who likes to accelerates up my a** here in town, only for us both to hit the red light (which ALWAYS turns red, and she should know it by now) a block up. Here, the M.O. is usually a huge, extended minivan or Suburban, with, at most, one kid and a hockey bag. My thinking is if they could afford that monster and all that gas, why not buy a little thing for about town when you don't need the Sherman Tank?!

Anyhoo. Back to the sign -- we have two or three which give a fairly accurate number per our MPG-o-meter. We hold 'em up to the glass but only when those smoked glass SUVs rumble by. So far, no one has thrown anything except for those joksters in the NH pickup trucks -- but that is just Darwinian right? They can't help it... We have one rule for our little kittens who like to flash their data (I am driving, afterall): Gun-toters on NJ Turnpike STRICTLY preclude use of any signage there (until Toyo goes kevlar, anyway).:cheer2:

Based on his comments, I think there are only two possibilities regarding the authenticity of anyone who says he "can't buy a Prius because his wife won't let him"...and the Prius is not "manly" enough for his buds...

The individual known as "coach" (coach of what...a girls kickball team?) Is either a: (1) Troll as some people have suggested, or (2) As Schwarzenegger would say:

In either case I subscribe to the following actions: (1) Don't feed the trolls, or (2) Let the girlie-man convince his wife...LOL. :D

I'm out on this topic. Nothing more to say...

WAIT!!! You can't just "drop the topic"! It's not over till WE say it's over!! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor??? HELL NO!!!!

    <Germans?> <Hush, he's on a roll.....>

    And it ain't over now........

Oh, sorry, back on topic (or ending the topic). Good to hear you went to the dealership and sat in one. Did you get to drive it? I really liked the V a lot, but opted for a IV due to a commute of 2 hours a day and felt that the potentially softer ride of the IV would be better.

Hope you are able to get the car you want without having to wear a pink chiffon dress when you pick it up ;)
