Has there been a consensus as yet if these things are beneficial. We have no handling problem per se but if better I'll get one.
    Thanx,
    Carl

I was very skeptical, I'm now very convinced. It definately reduces body roll and feels more 'solid' on curves. Add some decent tires and you almost feel like you've got a new vehicle on corners.

I've heard absolutely no negative experiences on this at all.

Obviously I am biased being the manufacturer but our BT Tech stiffening plate strengthens the chassis and the results are more precise handling and a more overall rigid/solid feel to the car. There were a ton of posts regarding this but I think that most of them are gone due to the server crash.

I am sure that some of those that have installed our stiffening plate will chime in here and give you their unbiased impressions.

Here are some pictures showing the differences between our stiffening plate vs. stock.

    Thanks!!

I want to jump up and down when I'm driving now.....

I felt the improvement before I had driven the first 2 miles and 5 corners !!

The car feels more settled - not wagging it's tail when you drive down the freeway passing
big trucks or in a crosswind .Kinda like one of those little dogs in the window. :p

I spend so much time in my car ANY improvement is welcome!

The effect is subtle - but your satisfaction will be high. Do not be put off by it's look of utter simplicity......How can THAT work and give such a huge result????

Sometimes the simplist answers are the best !

I can't wait till I put on the rear spoiler now!!

I've had mine on for a little over a month. Once you go into a curve you will notice the effect immediately. Best mod money can buy!! It truly works great. Highway winds don't effect the car at all now. I am looking into getting the spoiler. BT REALLY knows his stuff!!!

You've definitely got me interested (assuming lack of a better OEM part on the '06), but how does this affect the Prius' warranty, if at all? I'd hate to void my warranty right after I buy the car! ;)

Installing our BT Tech stiffening plate is not likely to void any warranties on your new car. Actually, unless someone is specifically looking for it, they probably wouold never know it was even there!!

Also, we currently have 3 different Toyota dealerships that are purchasing our plates in quantity for their customers so I don't think that this is an issue.

    Thanks!!

I just purchased the Stiffening plate last monday, Is there enough ground clearence to squeeze under the Prius to install it or will I have to jack it up to get under the car?

Depending on how "fit" one is, you can slide under there and remove the stock plate and install ours fairly easily and quickly. It is a lot easier though to lift the car a bit to easily get under it.

Just be sure to use jack stands for safety!!!

    Thanks!!

It can be done without jacking up the car but it can be somewhat awkward.

If I had a choice, I'd put it on stands or get it on a lift. I would not feel safe being under the car using only the jack.

Does the BT Tech Chassis Stiffening Plate affect ground clearance at all? I drive my Prius on a rugged dirt road 2-4 times a day where if moving too fast, or taking the wrong path avoiding the various, ever-changing ruts and rocks, sometimes results in a scrapping sound. I've actually broken off a piece of that protective, white cable guard located just under the driver's side, rear passenger. From the photos, the modified plate looks to be a little thicker than the stock one.

maybe on the order of a few millimeter, not enought to affect anything...there are lower parts than that plate.

Also look in the forum "Sponsored Commercial Sales" there is a lot of info about the plate there including a phone number for Brian of BT Tech.
