The first Chinese car to be sold in Europe has scored zero — the worst-ever score — in safety tests

The two-ton 4x4 scored zero stars in crash tests last week by the ADAC, the German automobile club, which carries out tests for Euro NCAP. “It had a catastrophic result,†said a spokesman for the ADAC. “In our 20-year history no car has performed as badly.â€

Testers calculated that a driver would be unlikely to survive a head-on collision at 40mph, and in a side-on collision at 30mph the driver would suffer severe head and chest injuries due to a lack of side protection.

You meant to tell me that the Europe has ZERO standard of safety and let this vehicle go on sale? <_<
It is a rebadged Isuzu Radeo with cheaper manufacturing.

Can't see to see that on a commercial:

"The all new Chinese JiangLing Landwind achieving record-setting crash test results. The testers declared that in their 20 years of service they had never seen safety tests like these!"

    :D

That video is incredibly scary... at 40 mph??? Wow. I agree with ceric on this one. How can they justify allowing that rolling deathtrap on the road?

Wow, the steering wheel's up at the neck and the front left wheel is probably jammed against the dummy's left foot.

Maybe it's their way of controlling their population ;)

Last week this was news in Holland.
Several hundreds of these Chinese cars are sold in Holland. The company who sold that car has promised to make some adjustments to make the car safer.

Like modifying it to only operate in reverse???

Add a sticker inside the drivers side door? Warning: Collisions can be hazardous to the drivers health. Please do not crash this vehicle.

They might be able to make some modifications to cars they have not yet manufactured but there is no way you can bring that POS to the dealer and have it reinforced enough to be safe. Notice in the pictures Tempus posted that in all three "kill the occupant" vehicles, the front tires were shoved well back of the side mirror. They need a redesign, not a couple of pieces of metal welded on.
