I have a 2010 Prius III, and I loaded a bunch of songs onto a USB flash drive, and organized them into folders by albums. I also added track # to the file names so all the songs in each folders are organized by name.

But when I play it from the Prius audio system, it refuses to play the songs accordingly. Instead, it shuffles them randomly. I've tried rearranging the songs in each folder by name or by track #, but nothing has worked.

    Any ideas?

UPDATE: Figured this out. Now if I can just find the "delete this thread" button...

Can you tell me what size flash drive you used and brand? I bought a new Sandisk Cruzer 32GB and my 2010 won't read it (stock usb port) I was wondering if there were size limits. Trying to buy the biggest card I can that has been confimed to work in the card. Thanks!

The Prius can only read USB drives that are in FAT32 format. If it's in NTFS format Prius can't read it. It has nothing to do with size.

The 32gb Sandisk was formatted in FAT32. Still no luck.

Can you share what you figured out with the community? How can you list the folders on the USB in alphabetical order? How can you play the tracks in the original order of the CD?

    Thanks.

I went into each song's property and make sure they are labeled by the correct track #. But I still find that this only work for certain albums. Some albums just refuse to play accordingly.

    tyrus13,

Did you figure out how to list folders (a.k.a. CD Names) in alphabetical order?

    Thanks,
    Rob

No Idea. To be honest I don't really use the USB anymore after I bluetooth-ed my iPhone to the car.

My FAT32 formatted USB drive didn't work until it was reformatted as FAT32.

Originally all the folders were alpabetical & the songs played alphabetically within the folders. When I added folders they seem to have gone to the bottom of the list.

I lost the little booklet for the system. Which file formats does it support? I believe if it encounters an unsupported file format it jumps to the next folder.

I'm using an 8GB Sandisk Cruzer.

The booklet says the USB memory player can be used for MP3 and WMA playback.

    It also says:
    (a) USB communication formats: USB 2.0 FS (12 MBPS)
    (b) File formats: FAT 16/32 (Windows(R))
    (c) Correspondence class: Mass storage class
