People talk about Prius subsidy, but IMO it was HOV access that *really* drove sales. Major hit to the already damaged Volt.

Don't they actually have to SELL one first?

How have they taken into account the fact that the first 30 or 40 miles are emmissions free? It doesn't state definitively, but I'm left with impression that it is a straight ICE to ICE comparison. Is this fair? With my commute of 15 miles round-trip, I could go a long, long time without creating ANY emmissions. Only time will tell on the success of the Volt. My only real beef with it until we get some actual real-world experience is the price.

It is not CO2. It is CO (carbon monoxide). That news broke here from PriusChat.

Oh Yeah, that "2" on the end makes all the difference!
Monoxide is quite a different gas from Dioxide!
That would be /is quite a typo, The correction should be interesting reading!

CARB gives Chevy Volt ULEV II status, misses SULEV II by a hair — Autoblog

Maybe if they had a test that would better simulate actual Volt use, the results would have been different.

Does this mean if you turned the Volt on in your garage, you would suffocate and die?

Won't that require it to be priced so the average schmoes can afford it?
