I was wondering if anyone knows how to disable to radio message lock while driving. I just recently moved into an area with digital radio stations and most of the stations use the radio message feature. Unfortunately, you can only see this message when the car is stopped. Now, I understand that this is a safety feature to keep your eyes on the road, but it would be nice to be able to view the messages anyway, especially when cruising on the highway.

    Thanks

    No unlock AFAIK.

Several radio stations around here show song title/artist on the 'short' call-letter message that you can see on the Audio screen at all times. They don't seem to use the big message for the same job, probably because a lot of cars aren't allowed to access that message as easily...

exactly! I want to know how to disable the stupid warning message. What's the point if I'm >10km/h constantly. I don't want to have to stop at the side of the road just to find out the name of the song!

Well I guess from the lack of responses to this post that no one has any idea how to do this. I will keep digging myself and post any findings here.

You would have to disable the speed pulse input to the MFD. Doing so though also affects the operation of the consumption/energy screen.

Depending upon whether you want this feature to be automatically available at all times or just for occasional use you could perform the same mod that I recommend to those who want to override the speed sensor for full access to the BT phone.

You'd want to install a switch to enable defeat of the SS wire and then to reenable it. If you leave it disabled at all times you won't get bars on the Consumption graph and you won't see the wheels turning on the car on the Energy screen.

Go about 1/2 way down that page for a diagram of the wire you're looking for.

Not for BT/RDS msgs. The hidden override is only for NAV generated functions: NAV itself, calendar and maintenance.
