That is a great deal. Basically you got a III for the price of a II about a year ago.

When park is pressed the door locks open. Not sure if this can be adjusted or not.

You can change the lock sequence on the car. (Press and hold lock and panic simultaneously IIRC. You should get a response from the car if the sequence has changed).

The JBL in the III is actually pretty good imho. Good sound reproduction from highs to lows. Its better than other factory systems. Depends on how much you are "into" hi-end audio.

I did a search here and figured it out. I basically have the car on ready, then hold the unlock button for exactly 5 seconds. My car no longer unlocks on its own when I put it on park :)

HOWEVER, there is one more thing I want to change...

Is there any way I can lock the car after I get out of it, without having to use the key? I like to just keep my key in my purse and never take it out. I can unlock the doors and get into the car without the key, but when I get out of my car, I have to take out the key and press the unlock button. I hope this makes sense. If someone knows the answer, please help! Thanks.

Did you know that you can touch the top of the door handle and it will lock (if you have the fob on you anyway)?

    To unlock, grasp the handle.

Ahhh, is that the trick? I will try it out later. Touch the top or grasp the handle. I think sometimes I touch the top while grasping the handle haha. I hope this will work for me. Thank you!

I got them to add factory leather at the "port" which is not a shipping port but a toyota "port" that can be inland but essentially is probably somewhere be tween a factory quality and a dealer quality. It looks fantastic and I prefer it to cloth

    grasp the handle to UNlock...

to lock, find the two indent on the top of the handle towards the front of the car. That's marking the location of the lock sensor. Touch it. There's a bit of a delay before the car locks. If it's not sensitive enough, you can pinch that area by touching the top AND the bottom of the handle (there's a sensor on the bottom too).

I've found an extra "gotcha" with this on my car. When I got my car, it had a burglar alarm that the dealer installs on its cars to deter them being stolen off the lot.

If park and shut off the car, but don't want the doors unlocked (to sit and listen to the radio or yak on the phone, etc.), I have to re-lock the doors. It turns out this arms the burglar alarm. When I later start up the car and drive away, even though I never opened a door much less got out of the car, it sets off the alarm. So I shut off the car after the alarm's gone off, and it unlocks the doors (as usual), disarming the alarm so when I restart the car, there's no complaint.

This really confused me (What the hell is my car's horn doing?) until I figured out it was in fact the alarm doing this, and then found out exactly what sequence of events causes it. To avoid this I have to unlock the doors before I restart the car. It's no longer a mystery to me, but it's still an annoyance.

Must be an aftermarket alarm. I don't think a Toyota factory alarm system does that (I've sat in the car plenty of times with the doors locked and started again without changing the position of any of the locks.)
