Well -- it depends on how many others will admit to being an ugly bloke in a silver Prius. You might just be a club of one! ;)

Aussie version of a tip referred to the giving of beer as a gratuity rather than cash. Not so much as a tip to you.

There must be other ugly blokes driving silver Prius's who are brave enough to admit it to the world?

First, yup, I got that--I was trying to be punny. Tried to hard, obviously...

I brought the guys a pumpkin pie for Halloween. Especially helpful, as it turned out...The car LOOKS FANTABULOUS. I should have had some doubts, however, as, when I went to pick it up, my rear view mirror was missing. Oops. Yeah, they'd taken it off to replace the windscreen. Ok, no worries there. Got it home and was resetting all my radio stations (36 of 'em, counting the 18 satellite). Noticed there was a bit of a problem with the satellite antenna (crappy design--wire breaks if you breathe on it and they'd jiggled it and not resettled it as securely as it had been...Hiya Galaxee, DH & V8Cobra!). Went back and had a chat and research was going to be done, shall we say, to see who should pay what to whom and for what. Hokey dokey. Then, I went back downtown to run some more errands, and arrived back home at about 6.35 (after dark, and about 25 minutes before body shop closed). DH pointed out...oh, dear, your right headlight is not on. MAJOR oops for body shop, as they'd replaced the units due to the rock damage. Moi raced into the house, and had very quick discussion with bodyshop guy...bring car in NOW and we'll TRY to discuss it with any cops who MIGHT stop you on the way...Got to body shop, only pissing off a FEW people...my high beams were fine and I needed to have both headlights a coupla times. Turned out, yeah, it was ONLY a bulb...I heard the tech muttering under his breath about how it should have been looked at before the car was let go...Uh huh. And yeah, he could just change the bulb for now, but there's summat more complicated with seating the headlight assembly that he couldn't do right then...So, I left the car and got a ride home. The guy who'd been helping me all along was really great. The guy tonight (not the muttering tech--I mean the front office guy) is one of the big dogs--we think he's a son of one of the owners. I know he remembers us from repairs on a few of our ex-cars (now, now...only ONE ex as in trashed--others, sold). Big dog's gonna get my car back to me in the am, AND have a chat with a stereo person he knows about fixing my satellite antenna...I do not know...wouldn't it seem to you that if you see a wire VERY carefully taped near various edges and seals, that you should note where those fixes are, and be careful to guard them? Nothing on the INSIDE of the car was repainted, so I don't really understand why they needed to do anything but unfasten the antenna from the roof and then just drop it inside the car. Ya gotta think there was a reason for the way it was taped.

Ok. I'm WAY beyond rambling here.

    I know.

    TANSTAAFL

    Moving on.

"Ugly blokes etc." is a state of mind, as is "Hot chicks etc." I know for a fact we chicks range from REALLY hot, to really HOT flashes. Young chicks to tough ol' hens.

    Adjust the 'tude, dude! B)

Oh no, I'm ugly and proud, takes something special to cope with this face and bod with a smile. Good luck with the antenna.

Well, from your avatar I'd say you look a little like Ringo Starr -- he's kinda cute ugly.

I have a 2005 Black Prius. The hood was getting damaged by stones which I touched up in 2009. In June of 2010 the clear coat started coming off up near the windshield. Since I have over 150K on the car it's not covered by the warranty.

The clear bra idea in other posts is recommended. I have taken the car to two shops - one at the dealer and one independent. Both quoted just under $500 to strip and repaint the hood.

    What a pain.
