Hi everyone. I now have all the parts and directions and am ready to install the EV button in my 2007. The directions call for a Push Momentary button, which I purchased at Radio Shack. My question for anyone who has installed this system is: Do you have to hold the button in to keep it in EV Mode or does it activate and stay on when you push it in? I know when it will automatically switch out when certain things happen. If you have to hold it in to stay in EV mode, I think I am going to install an off/on switch. Does anyone have any experience to indicate if this system increases gas mileage? Thanks so much fir the advice.

No, you don't have to hold the button in.

It will save fuel if you use it properly under the right conditions. Using it properly does not mean routinely using it to propel the car, as counterintuitive as that might seem. I use it mainly to force engine shutdown during warmup while decelerating or braking when it won't shut down on its own. See this for more.

Jim, Thanks so much for the reply and the link to your other article. They both are very helpful. I'll post my thoughts after I get it installed, although they won't anywhere near as scientific as yours are. Thanks again.
