Found a 04 Prius, leather, ABS, remote start, CD changer...80k miles. Owner has all service records since 18k. Battery has not been changed, but everything seems ok on the car with exception of center console cloth coming off and a couple of small dings on top of roof...front tires are a little thin (about 10k left). Is 8k a good deal on the car? Do I understand correctly that the battery is still under warranty? Thanks in advance for the help!

Make sure that the car has never been issued a salvage title or has ever been declared totaled. If so, it has no warranty (or virtually none) but this isn't Toyota specific.

The HV battery in non-CARB states (GA isn't a CARB state) is 8 years/100K miles. For CARB states it's 10 years/150K miles.

http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...ed-prius-need-help-what-look.html#post1215778 is a good set of hints. The leather had to be aftermarket as leather didn't become available until the 06 model year. I can't speak to remote start, but that's one way to waste gas. :)

my daughters 04 has 75K on it. the kbb trade in is 8k, but some people are saying the dealers aren't even giving that much. but i would say it's a very fair price on a one owner car. we expect to get another 50,000 trouble free miles or more. all the best!

Thanks for the link Cwerdna...I think had already read over that thread...I have been lurking a couple weeks. I guess the main thing I am asking would be if that is a good deal or not. It's not a salvage car...carfax reads good, and the owner has almost the entire history of receipts. Thanks!

Thanks for the info bisco...going to let Toyota dealer take a look at it and purchase if no major issues. From what you are saying, I feel I should be doing alright on price. Thanks!
