    Hello Everyone,

I am sitting here with my dash taken apart hoping for some help with the lockpick 3 install. It was pretty easy to take everything apart and i have all 3 connectors attached (triple checked) but when the lockpick itself is installed I get no audio at all with the prius and the steering wheel functions do not work. When the lockpick is not in line everything works perfectly. Let me know if you prius gods have any info that might help me =)

    Thanks
    Kyle

Did you go ahead and pull the radio all the way out? I found it difficult to get the the one set of connectors over the top of the other set without taking the radio completely out.

Seems unlikely that the unit is bad, I suspect a loose connection when installed...

    Hi Jpadc-

I did that the unit totally out, I am also testing it that way. I hooked all 3 cords up and connected the rest where they should go. Reseated them a few times as well. It seems pretty simple, it is just splicing its chip inline... The touch screen gets its information perfectly when the lockpick is not installed, but when it is installed it gets no info from the car, no audio, no temp, no ac control.

    Thanks!
    Kyle

Sounds like a defect somewhere in the lockpick or the wiring. Have you contacted CoastalTech? They may need to send you a replacement unit....

Finally got a hold of their tech support -- they said I need to replace the unit. I had already ordered another one anyways and plan on just returning this one for a refund. I will let you know how it goes when I get it on the 7th.

Well... They had me order a second device... This one is doing the same thing as my last one... I have JBL audio and both the website and tech support say it should work. I am thinking just give up at this point. Anyone else have a 2006 prius that worked right away with the lockpick 3?

I have a 2006 base Prius (no Nav, no JBL, and no camera) for which I installed a Lockpick 3 a little over a week ago. I removed the MFD and the Radio and plugged in everything according to the directions. The display now shows that there's a Toyota DVD Player installed. The audio works fine, however, the display shows a picture icon that is greyed out and will not activate no matter what video source is plugged in. I contacted Coastal Electronics Tech Support three different times, and each time was told I wasn't pushing the buttons in the correct order, including rapidly pushing the power button on and off, which isn't even mentioned in the included instructions. After checking and rechecking that the connections were seated properly, and playing with it for a week, I've given up and will be sending the unit back. I haven't decided if I'll be buying another one.
