Just brought my '10 Gen III on blackfriday & was just curious.
The texture of the rubber coating that's on the steering wheel, does anyone notice any wear an tear on them or do you have a steering wheel cover on it? I like it the way it is but I don't want a worn out spot on my wheel and was just curious.. Thanks

I have had my '10 Prius since July of '09 (36,000+ miles) and have had no issues of worn spots on the steering wheel.

    Enjoy your new Prius!!

Ditto on mine since August 2010. 20k miles and no problems with the steering wheel.

I like the texture and feel of my steering wheel.

I've had mine since last May and do not have any wear spots or problems on my steering wheel. If you work with abrasives or use special hand creams or cleaners, maybe it's something rubbing off your hands. Just thinking outloud!

    Happy Motoring,

    Tom

I'd much prefer a worn out spot before putting one of those tacky looking steering wheel covers on my steering wheel lol. Just my opinion, I know some people like them... My co-worker has one on his Civic and it makes the wheel so thick I don't know how he stands it. Oh, and not to mention how gawdy it looks with the big yellow HONDA written around it.

I installed the Wheelskins cover and have had no regrets. To me the stock wheel feels a bit to much like sandpaper.

    Me too!
I felt that the wheel was too thin also and installed a wheel cover.

I'll be adding a wheel cover once I decide what it's going to be. I agree about the sandpaper feel.
