Hard to believe, but it was as much my fault as the dealership's. My wife was on the loan application (from a bank), but didn't sign the loan paperwork at the dealership, so we had to resign the financial papers. They didn't even try to change anything on me! I was watchin' them though

i paid cash and had a mini cooper trade in for $11,000
dealer fees: $299
tax was 6% on the balance after trade.
i thought it was one heck of a deal though. i did shop at 3 other dealers before i went there prepared to haggle but it was actually a very pleasant experience...

yes. they are different by region.

 

I got a quote from truecar which the dealer had agreed upon. Upon contacting the dealer the price changed significantly(by > 1800 dollars). Can I hold him to the true car agreed pricing?

a verbal agreement means crap. you need a written contract with the dealer.
