Don't worry, they have a mug for you, too. Unfortunately, it isn't a travel mug.

I really like the newer Contigo Autoseal vacuum-insulated travel mugs at Costco. They're sold in sets of 2 for $20 (in the Kansas City area, at least), and I haven't had any trouble with leakage / cleaning / phantom flavors. It's listed as top-rack dishwasher safe, although I've always washed mine by hand.

Unfortunately it isn't available on the Costco website, so you need to have a nearby store (which requires a membership) in order to obtain one. It looks exactly likehttp://www.amazon.com/dp/product/B003Y6FHG4?tag=priuschatcom-20 however, although they're not quite the same product.

Hmmm... not sure why the link is being shown several times, in a screwy format. I clicked on Edit, it looks like everything was entered correctly.

I probably have the same one as you. Red, but holds 20 oz. Starbucks currently has a brown 20 oz. for sale, but I don't like the lid. It doesn't feel like it was designed for sipping. That's my take, anyway. Besides that, I don't like the color.

    I have simple requirements:
    1. 20 oz.
    2. Metal
    3. Any color but brown

    bisco,

I was wrong when I said that Starbucks no longer sells your and my mug with the flip top. I went to two Starbucks today, and apparently they sell more models in the stores than they sell online (weird ... usually it's the other way around).

Anyways, below is a picture of my old Starbucks mug with the flip top, and two similar mugs available for sale in Starbucks stores now.

-- The one on the left is my old one which comfortably holds 16 ounces.

-- The one in the middle is on sale now in Starbucks for $15.95 or 16.95 (I don't remember exactly) and is similar to my old one, but it is thinner and I don't know if it holds a full 16 ounces.

-- The one on the right is on sale now in Starbucks for $19.95 and holds at least as much as my old one (16 ounces) and maybe more. I have the flip top up for illustrative purposes.

EDIT #1: As my old one on the left is 16 ounces (a "Grande" in Starbucks-speak), I'll take a wild guess and say that the smaller one in the middle is 12 ounces (a "Tall") and the larger one on the right is 20 ounces (a "Venti").

EDIT #2: I received the larger one on the right for Christmas and measured its capacity. It's 16 ounces (and not 20 ounces as I had speculated in Edit #1).

Anyways, it's good to know they still sell mugs that are similar to and seem as good as my old one.

OK, we ended up getting the red one from Starbucks and WOW does it insulate well. Fits the cupholder too. My wife liked it so much we went back to get one for me.
Didn't want two red ones tho so I grabbed the brown one. Had them fill it up (free coffee with the cup purchase) and hit the highway.
NOTE: the brown one is BIGGER than the red one. Fatter and taller, barely works in the cupholder, but I can live with it. The ones with the tapered bottom pictured above may fit better.
Drove just over an hour and could barely drink the coffee all the way home. It was still scalding hot at the end of the drive. I added an ice cube and enjoyed it in front of the TV.

Great stuff, thanks for the tips!
