2010 Prices Paid and Details

    @chakrax where did you see the $20,544 advertised price? Is it online somewhere? I am looking for either a Prius ii base or a prius iii with nav. thanks

    Ended up buying it last night for $22,320 and an OTD of about $24,420 using the 0% offer.

    The options I listed above were correct and fully stated. Very happy with it. Well, about as happy as one can be with a Prius. I bought it for my father. I'll be driving my Z4M Coupe :)

    Believe it or not - on craigslist.

    Stock on base II's seem to be dwindling, so I don't want to wait too long - I'll definitely buy before the end of the year, if not sooner.

    Note: These advertised prices have factored in the $1500 Toyota cash back, as far as I can tell.

    Pulled the trigger today! $20,200 (after Toyota $1500 rebate) + TTL, $22,622 out the door. (yeah, bummer to live in a CA county with tax rate of 9.25%). I went with the rebate and not the zero percent financing option.

    Base Prius II
    Blizzard White
    Door and rear bumper protectors (I actually like these - look very nice)
    Mats

    This is very close to the best advertised price, accounting for the $220 added for Blizzard White. Did all the pricing over the phone with Stevens Creek Toyota and went in for a super nice experience. I was offered the zero deductible Extended Warranty for 7yr/100K miles. They had a version where you get your money back if you don't use the warranty for $1605. The financing agent said that I needed to get that at the time of signing. She offered the same coverage in a "regular" no-refund-if-you-don't-use-it policy for $1400. She said that a high percentage of hybrid owners were buying that. I still have until the end of the year to purchase that if I want. Any advice?

    Others here with more knowledge will tell you not to get it from the dealer, too much $$$$
    Prius Chat or someone here has the same for much less.

    Thanks. As soon as I wrote that post, I searched this forum and found the sticky thread about the platinum warranty. I knew I was doing the right thing by declining it. As a policy I never accept anything thrown my way at the last minute. It has served me well so far.

    I'll be happy to buy the policy from Troy and support this forum at the same time.

    Are service contracts a good choice?

    Still a searching for a good deal....nobody will sell me a car for $21,800. Had a lead but didn't get a call back...

    Am I correct in thinking a HB II with no rebate should go for a max of $21,800? And probably lower if I don't get a special paint color Seems to be what I am seeing here. So far, the lowest quote I've gotten is $22,217.00 OK..not a huge difference in price, but there is the principle of the matter here.....

    Keridwen, I don't know how disposed the dealers in your area are to dealing but $21,800 sounds reasonable. Are you trying to negotiate through the internet or in person? What are their inventories like?

    Have tried in person, phone, and internet. Can't get them to budge beneath $22,200.00 And that is mostly for the black and beige leftover models only that have been sitting on their lot for some time. To get anything else, the quotes are around $22,600.

    Maybe inventories are low here....I'm really torn between just walking away at this time and waiting until Spring or later for a new set of incentives and discounts, or if this is as good as it will get..... Just got one quote from a dealer in WI in which they are asking list price and only giving $1K off for the rebate--no discount at all. Twin City dealers are doing better than that...but not much.

    With oil hitting $91/barrel and gas touching or exceeding $3/gallon I suspect the "deals" are going to get fewer and farther between.

    See - this is the problem. Dealers are acting like this is 2009 and the 2010s are just hitting the lot, with a long line of people waiting for them. I don't get that mentality. Toyo has taken huge hits this year--PR, technical, financial, the economy has been in the tank, and it's the end of 2010. Is it arrogance? Are there people who are willing to pay over invoice and up to MSRP for a car with a now 1 yr depreciation?

    Craig, I agree. The deals are not going to get any sweeter when the cars are already rolling off the lot.

    Funny you should use the word "arrogance" because that is exactly how I perceive the attitudes I've encountered. No need to deal, oblivious to the fact Toyota's rep is in the tank, refusal to believe a 2010 has a depreciated value...instead, I should be on my knees begging them to sell to me...

    I have a 2001 Echo and was treated well when I bought that...and I have a 2009 Hyundai Sonata which I bought in 2008 and got a huge discount on the new model year...so this whole Prius buying experience has been rather distasteful to date. Thing is...my Echo gets 45 mpg but has 211,000 miles on it so is about due for replacement...but it is still running strong so don't need a new car today...just would like one if I can get a decent deal. And the Prius is the only thing that gets equivalent mileage.

    Thank you for confirming what I've been feeling about the Toyo dealers.

    I need to part with my beloved (but oh so expensive to maintain and always something breaking) '98 Saab. I'm at the shop wayyyy too much these days.

    A 2010 would be great if I could find the IV with no options in Silver/Misty at a decent price. There are zero in my area. I refuse to pay for Nav or solar, since I need neither. I want leather w/lumbar adjust, 3 door smart key, else I would go for a III.

    The thought of having to try and deal with a Toyo dealer is making me feel anxious. I want a great price. I don't want to have to haggle. ugh.

    Try Walser Toyota in Bloomington. Bloomington Toyota Cars For Sale | Walser Toyota | Minneapolis, Burnsville, Golden Valley Area
    They have a excellent reputation in the Minneapolis area. That is where we are heading in 2012 to buy our Prius.

    I'm in North Carolina.

    MN is just too far; I have no desire to drive from MN to NC. My goal is to find my Prius within a 5 hr or less drive from where I live.

    The Prius is a very comfortable car for cruising the country :car:
    It'd be a shame to put one thru the road salt though :(

    there is a $1500 rebate from toyota? I live in socal and the dealer is telling me that the rebate is only $750 or 0.9% on 60 month financing..
