Where to mount Valentine One?

I want to buy a Valentine 1 for my Prius. However I am weary of suction cups because they leave marks and I park in the streets of Baltimore where people regularly check cars for electronics.

I doubt that my V1 will be staying in the car, but I don't want to make my car a target. I was wondering if there was a mount that would attach to the center console, lift the V1 2 inches higher from the center console. As I am 6 ft and drive rather fairly upright it should not impede my line of view and also clear the front hood of the car.

Any mounts that may attach to the center console in a non-permanent way that you are aware of?

    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

I put mine on the passenger side visor when I hard wired it to my car. In that location, it is not obvious that it is there and it gets a good view of behind. I don't know about a center console position.

I bought a visor mount on ebay that goes over the mfd and had mine velcro'ed to that and it looked good but really was not high enough to get over the wiper obstruction. The dash is really low compared to the bottom of the windshield...

So like the other poster I just use the visor clip and clip it to the passenger visor. I never got around to permanent wiring which is very nice though. I just let the cord dangle and 2 years later still no problems and no tickets!!!

The detector comes and goes with me.

I would like some clear instruction to wire my V1 into the inside roof console. In my old A4 I found switchable power and ground up there, had to do a little soldering (with a protective tarp below), but the result was pretty-much invisible wiring. Valentine advises a high placement.

Would the little windshield dots interfere with this function?

I don't generally run that much higher than a speed limit, but in the Mountain West there are long distances between places I want to go. The problem is that sitting or trolling police, sheriff, or state cop cars cause traffic turbulence, and I want to be warned of them, if they have radar, before other drivers brake upon seeing them--I have seen too much of it.

I love my V1 install!!! When I got my windows tinted I also had a strip installed at the top of my front windshield and that is where I keep my V1, just to the left of the dots. The V1 will not stick to the dots (even with tint over them) so you have to go to the left. I also use the V1 remote display option and mounted the display in the back right corner or bin just below the radio buttons. The flip up cover for that bin is see-through so I can read the display even when it’s closed.
Not that I ever speed ;) but remember there are some law enforcement officers that are not fond of detectors and so it’s better if they are not visible so as to not make yourself a target, and let me tell you, you can’t see my V1 at all in the front windshield and too see it from the side you have to look from the ground at an upward angle…I’ve never had an officer crawl up to my car on hands and knees so I think were good there. I don’t think is possible to go any more stealth and stick to the valentine rule from their website “mount as high as possibleâ€.
Also for help with the wiring…there is install instructions out there somewhere for the upgraded rear view mirror with auto-dim…just follow those, it will have you run the power line down the pillar and connect near the fuse box. I worked like a charm for me, if I remember correctly it took me about 2hrs to do the entire install…Good Luck
If I get around to it I’ll post some pics

FYI…also before anyone asks, No I haven’t had any issues with the tint, the dots, the headrests, or my head, interfering with the V1’s range. It performs like the world-class device that it is!
