If this was the classic movie "A Christmas Story", you just told Prius to try on the Bunny Pajamas....

Many (my self included) hybrid drivers try to save fuel to do a small part to stick it to OPEC, the oil industry and alqueda:
Should hybrid marketers say "buy a prius" to remind people (who all too quickly) to NOT forget about 911 (don't enlarge the pic if reality is too much for you)? I think so. There ain't no baby factor advertising MY issue, right? . . . but marketing people have to appeal to the largest group. The Prius doesn't appeal primarily to hot rodders, chick magnet drivers, anti-war, anti trillion dollar deficit, anti-oil terrorists, anti-CO2 folks, or any other minority - above all else. That's just the way it is. Marketing wouldn't get their HUGE budgets, if they missed the mark too many times.

I just showed DH the video of the Prius Cozy.

    He loves it.

Dammit, I think he wants one. *sigh*

Best you stop giving me these new great ideas. I'm tempted to inform our agency about these.

BTW, after we put this up live, we had our best holiday season ever for Prius sales. And the metrics still say plenty of men bought. Coincidence or inspired marketing? You decide.

Yep . . . I'm guessing we're never going to see bikini clad hotties drapped all over a Prius hood as a marketing ploy. I know that would never persuade ME to buy.

What about modding the fog light plugs by replacing them with retracting sub-machine guns? That might make a pretty sweet DIY video. And it would make the steering wheel controls so much more fun! :D

Yes, that's kind of my point. Men do keep buying the Prius, despite Toyota's most dilligent attempts to place Prius in fairylands, and now wrap it in a cozy.

Really no big deal, but just for me? Could we have "fun" once with maybe a Prius being driven through a fireball and then pulling up curbside to pick up a woman in a short black dress with great legs?

It's sexist. But you know, just to balance out the wrapping it in a Cozy thing....

Yes Hill, But you already have bought. I don't know how many non-hybrid owners it might persuade to buy...but I know a lot of guys that it would at least motivate to look in the direction of a Prius...and that's a first step...

The whole unexpected juxtaposition of the imagery would probably get a lot of peoples attention.

I know The Prius is probably correctly never going to be marketed in the "Sports" car vein....but does it have to be marketed as a "Fairyland Cozy"????......isn't there a middle ground somewhere?

Oh great, I just put a new pin stripe on my car to make it look a little sporty and now I feel like I need to dye my hair grey and drive on the shoulder. One thing for sure, Batman will never drive Betty White's car. :hurt:

Well OK, maybe...Betty White is kinda cool.

Isn't it amazing that the month both Volt and Leaf came out, Prius sales skyrocketed?

Okay, I looked at every ad - or whatever you want to call them - and I can't believe anyone gave the go-ahead to those projects. There's 20 minutes of my life I'm never getting back.

What a load of useless crap. I shudder to think of all the money spent on such tripe.
