A bit of a late comer, but relevant. I'm going to suggest that the "Enhance Audio" is a vendor add-on. I have a Nexus S w/ stock Gingerbread (2.3.1) - not rooted for now. The option is missing.

For the record, the media connection on this device disconnects regularly if not actively, and can be somewhat intrusive to the phone pairing as well. Audio quality does seem just fine - I'm not sure if it's transcoded or straight MP3 streaming. I can say that it does suffer from pitch changes where music will get faster and slower under certain conditions.

Hmmm..... Ya must be a Motorola thing. I installed the Apex 1.3.1 cooked ROM onto my Droid X and all works as normal. (With "Enhanced Stereo.) The BT Audio stays connected perfectly even when I'm not using it ... meaning say I'm on USB with my iPod then after an hour I switch to BT the music starts right up and works normally. The phone portion always works fine as well... I just found I have to pair the phone first, then go into the stereo and pair the bluetooth audio. I don't actually have to "pair" it in the BT Audio section .. I just click register, then on the phone I just reconnect to the car stereo with the existing paired connection by touching it. Even after the initial pair to the car, the phone lists "Phone, Media" as the pairing options.......

Back when I used my iPhone 3GS I used to get occasional drop outs as I drove around ... that never happens on the Droid X. I use the BT Audio most of the time these days and it's sweet it always works great.

Once interesting thing -- when using the stock Android music player, the time counts up on the car stereo (matching the song) but when I use PlayerPro (my preferred player) this does not happen.

i just installed the most recent (for X anyway) android update about 2 weeks ago and since then, i have major issues connecting BT to car phone. now i stream Pandora all the time and almost never have issues with it connecting.

but in many cases i end of shutting off car (not hard to do considering how many lights i have to navigate on my way home) then turn on BT on my phone then turn car back on.

up until i installed system version 2.3.340 i had not an issue. anyone else see this with the last update?

You try completely to unpair and delete the phone from the car (and vice versa) and start from scratch? I had the latest OTA update on my phone without issue and now the Apex 1.3.1 is based on the latest update.

(Shown as 2.3.340 under system version)

No problems at all ... I did have to repair from scratch as some of my mods to 2.2 broke the update so I had to reflash my phone.... Then I had to repair again after Apex 1.3.1 as that also cleared my settings.

yep did the remove, reboot and reinstall drill a few times. one thing i do know. 90% of all cellphone issues are fixed by simply powering off phone, remove battery for 10 seconds, power up.

that works occasionally but nothing consistent. if i do it enough times it will eventually pair up but lately i have to do it 5-6 times when before i dont think i ever had to manually connect before.

Oh I meant did you clear our all of the BT settings in the car stereo (delete the phone from both BT Audio and the Phone section) and same on the phone. Sounds like you did that.

Just want to report that my EVO 4G paired fine with my pkg 3. BT with nav. I don't know about enhanced audio (how do you verify that anyway?), but it sounds good. I paired BT audio first before I paired the phone part, but it works fine. I can switch to other audios mode and the BT connections is still solid and ready for me to switch back. The only thing I cant do is having the song title or album name displayed on the nav, but I don't think the AVRCP or A2DP profile supports that...?

For anyone who have issue using BT AVRCP problem i.e. FF or REW using steering wheel button, I had problems before on another system and I found that some apps (such as stitcher, pandora, winamp, etc) I installed will take control of those button function. Try uninstalling them or restore your phone to factory and try again.

The PITA of removing and resetting the BT settings in the car means you have to re-assign your speed dials after re-transferring your phonebook. Kinda wish the phonebook would "remain" despite the pairing difference.

Removing the only paired phone from the car does clear the phonebook - removing the car from the phone does not (the Prius has no way of knowing whether the phone is still paired on the far-end). I just completed this exercise again tonight - in futility. I had to re-transfer my phonebook and reassign my speed-dials again. Note - this is the only phone "paired" to the car. In the past, I noted if you have two phones and only remove one, the phonebook is not cleared.

For now, I just keep the Audio feature unticked in the Bluetooth paired device options until I want to play music. This is the only sure-fire way to ensure the car can use BT audio if desired, but the phone doesn't connect/drop/connect/drop in very regular intervals.

On my phone, I have Car Mode auto-start when pairing to the Prius, and exit 5 seconds after unpairing. When the player disconnects, causing the car to drop both connections, car mode exits (taking any apps it spawned along with it), only to restart again after reconnecting in 15 or so seconds. I'm sure longer timeouts would make it less obvious on the phone end, or simply not using car mode, but it doesn't solve the underlying problem ;)

oh hmmm?? well i have 2 moto X's paired but never removed them from the car. just removed the car from the phone. it still does not work reliably. but now i only have to request connection one time to pair and about 80% of the time its actually back to repairing automatically.

now, one thing i did notice. if i turn BT on first before starting the car, it seems to work a lot better. in the past week. i tried waiting until car was on, then powering up BT on the phone and 3 of 5 times, i had to manually pair. once i had to request it 3 times before it would work.

My now rooted Droid 1 has no problems with either USB or BT streaming. I always keep the BT active on the phone so maybe pairing is fine that mode.
