Just like darrelld's LEDs, they're not cheap. However, if they're quality materials and are built properly, then there shouldn't be a problem. Remember that if he sells this to us, I don't think he wants to deal with people returning defective products or selling products that only last a year which means he has to ensure they're perfect before they're sold to us.

Remember guys, they're unique. Chances are, you're the only one in the county with a set.

Yea putting them together and making them work and last is No problem IMO. I have a supply of water proof LEDs that I have been using/testing non stop for about 2 years with no problems.

It's dealing with people that's the hard part, LOL. Shipping and getting payed and customer support ect that's Exactley how a item that cost's $60 ends up selling for $299.

Yeah.. $299 is hard to swallow for an illuminated emblem (it's about the same price as a set of illuminated scuff plates).

The illuminated emblem looks rather sharp and is definitely unique, but $299?!? There's no way I'd pay that much for it.

Someone mentioned that blue illumination is a no-no. Does anyone happen to know specific laws on this?

Here's what California has to say on the topic:

So, no red to the front (check), further than 12" from other lights (check), doesn't resemble or interfere with any other lights (check), less than 720 square inches (check)... Just need to make sure that it's 0.05 candela per square inch or less.

Of course, that's just California. YMMV, as may your laws, and your law enforcement officers.

I'm OK with the manufacturer's badging, but refuse any dealer blurbs - not even on a license plate frame. I have had them remove it, and pay to repair the damage, in the past after having being told prior to delivery that I did not want it.

    Yeah see. I agree.

I'm fine with letting the people know who made the car, but advertising for the dealer? No thanks. They aren't the ones that manufactured this car I love so much, they were just simply a means of getting it.

dbDan: Ya Please don't call me out on W/W I wouldn't want anyone to know I drive a car that get's 50 Mgh and I love it. It would take away all my "Street Credit". But if you must Please do it in a thread where the Diesel truck guy's are telling everyone they need a "Lifted Diesel Truck with 22 inch wheels and a Whistle Tip muffler to pull a 3 thousand pound boat. It would be funny to hook the boat to the Prius and see if it would pull it. Not like I would do it but I bet my car could pull my boat, LOL Cool to see someone from the other fourm's here. BTW W/W People Pay doubble

Also, FYI, the doc's above are right. The emblem is fine by "LAW".
I was at the market and a police officer was there to complement me on the emblem.
Since he and his wife share a prius. We talked for a few minutes and I asked him about it being illegal, he states " No it is not ".

Nice! Looks like it's illuminated from behind judging by the reflections off the radiators...

Will this fit on the front/back of a Gen II?
