His name in Karl Pilkington, the newest offering on the Science Channel. I have just watched the second episode, China. The show is called "An Idiot Abroad"
The premise of the show, is 2 producers, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, send their mate Karl, out to see the "7 Wonders of the World". They want to see if travel abroad will change Karls outlook on life....
He does not stay at Hiltons, etc, but rather, stays in quite unique settings that I would feel equally as squeemish about as Karl does...
Food, it's quite amazing what folks will eat, as Karl discovers.
If you get a chance, it airs Saturday at 10p, Science Channel, it's quite a interesting and funny show. [IMG]

Is the show called "An Idiot Abroad"? If so, I see plenty of reruns of the China ep like on 2/4 at 2 am, 2/5 1 am and 5 pm and so on..

I haven't seen the show yet...

Thanks for the recommendation! I just watched the China ep and found it quite funny. Not sure I have the time to watch it if I set a season pass for it (on TiVo).

I'm an American born Chinese and have only been to China once in my life. I did understand some of the Mandarin that wasn't dubbed over. Other than going to the Great Wall at Badaling and being in Beijing, I hadn't done anything else that he did. It was semi-amusing to hear all the Britspeak.

I don't think I'd like to eat those bugs or frog.
