    Hi there!

Trying to decide between a new 2010 III with nav and a IV with solar sunroof package. Could purchase the III for $24,000 or the IV for just over $27,000.

First, do these seem like fair prices given that 2011's are now available?

Second, for those that have a sunroof package, are you glad you made that decision?

    Thanks.

I have a III with sunroof package. Its winter here so not really using it a whole lot. But I know I will use it in the summer. So I am happy I have it. Good luck with your choice

24K (OTD???) for a III doesn't sound bad.
I'm somewhat biased against Toyota's OEM nav and all sun roofs, so I'll let others opine on that.
$27K is starting to get pricey for my idea of what a Prius should go for however (comma!) if you're really into the features thing and the 3 thou doesn't matter that much to you---go for it!

I drive a II, so I'm used to a more spartan existence. :D

    GOOD LUCK!!!!

Yes, I am; however, I live further south and can get more use out of it.

But here's another however: I find it works great in our winters too. Why? Because, the interior still gets much hotter than ambient conditions on cold but sunny days. If you're dressed for the conditions, then the interior can be too warm. With the solar venting, it always seems to be just right. Another plus is I don't have to use the windshield sun screen* (PITA) so the sunlight warms the leather seats yet the inside is still cool.

Note: real cold here means around the freezing mark and typically occurs under cloudy skies or at night so the system isn't running during those circumstances. A simple click of a dash button will always turn it off.

You can always add a nav system but you can't install a solar package later on. The solar pkg on my III came with nav. The IV doesn't?

    * mandatory in the summer though.

I didn't write them down. As I recall the III was something like $26,600. The IV is $31,500.

Thanks for the response. I have nav on my 2007. I've loved it and haven't had any issues. The display on the new one doesn't seem anywhere as nice. I know I could add later or just use my phone but the integration is nice.

Go to www.aaa.com, build your car & get up to 3 dealer quotes. Around here 2010's are under invoice while 2011's are at invoice. Make sure the DVD is version 10.
