A lot of PriusChatters (and I mean A LOT) know the name Dianne Whitmire. Since the first gen Prius rolled out back in 2000, Dianne has been a very active salesperson in the Prius market. Originally hailing from Carson Toyota in Southern California, she left the dealership for a while but is now back home at Carson. Why is this news? Well, Dianne has been a friend of PriusChat since the site went online back in 2003 and many many PriusChat members from across the country have gone to her for their first, second, and third Prius (Prii?). Dianne is already taking deposits for the Prius v due by the end of the summer, and the line is also forming for the 2012 Prius PHV. We'll hopefully have a big partnership to announce with Dianne soon, so stay tuned. In the meantime, contact her using her information below if you're in the market for a new Prius, or if you want to put down a deposit for the Prius v or Prius PHV. And be sure to tell her PriusChat sent you. Dianne Whitmire Fleet Sales Director Carson Toyota Sunny Southern CA 310-522-2317 [email protected]

Oh wow! We can finally put down a deposit for a Prius PHV. Do you know the ETA?

For Prius V, do you mean Prius v (wagon)?

    Hi Wolfie!
Yes, the Prius V (Wagon) will be a little confusing to those with Prius package V cars eventually... I have noooooo idea why they did that. I can only assume they did it for the same reasons they once brought out a Highlander after calling a Tercel a Corolla Tercel in the late 70's and early 1980's... or the 4Runner model package HIGHLANDER in the late 90's... or using the Camry Solara moniker for the all new Solara. Or, calling the Matrix a Corolla Matrix initially in 2003. Credibility.

I hope the target date for the Prius Plug in for March 2012 was right. I'm one of those who wants one dearly... our HOV lane stickers end on July 1, 2011 so lots of Prius drivers in the carpool lanes in CA will no longer be able to use the carpool lanes solo... till the plug in arrives.

I thought the bigger wagon version is with lower case v. Anyway, we can still drive in NY LIE HOV lane with a standard Prius.

    I envy you.

In CA we'll get some stickers that are white and blue depending on car and date... and power/fuel used.

Better hope they don't repeal yours... or ask for $$ to do it. I had thought it was what a very poor CA should do: charge for the stickers after July 1, 2011 so only those who would REALLY need them would pay.

Call it the Prius v, not Prius V. You're going to confuse way too many people by using the Roman numeral V.

Oh, I don't think so. Anyone reading this car debut stuff will know.
And, it's Toyota's replicated use of the letter V that will be confusing.

This post brought to you today by the Letter V and the Color32. :p

On Toyota's Prius Family web page, they use italic lower case.

    Prius v
    Prius c

Prius Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle is simply Prius PHV.

..and then, there's the priuS -- that will be the all lower case SPORT model!

Ha Wolfie! Maybe if we keep making names up, one will stick!

    OK: Prius RACONTEUR!

Do you have brochures for the v and plug-in? How much is the deposit?

When you say Prius v has discount, what's the retail price and how much is the discount?

Sorry Wolfie. No brochures on either.
I also don't know pricing yet.
I don't know how much of a discount, but there will be one on pre-orders for the "v" thru me.

The Prius v (the wagon) is out in a few months.
The Prius Plug In is out in about a year and frankly, the line's already formed and starting to grow.

In California, it means you get an all new HOV sticker (blue) to be permitted to use the HOVlanes solo again, a privilege that ends July 1 but re-starts just before the plug ins make their debut.

In CA, it's literally the only way to BUY TIME ie. keep away from traffic in the best way possible. You bet the lines will be long.

New Stickers pending federal approval will be available as of January 1, 2012 and will be valid through January 1, 2015 to the first 40,000 applicants that purchase or lease cars meeting California's enhanced advanced technology partial zero emission vehicle (AT PZEV) requirements.

Clean Air Stickers High Occupancy Vehicle HOV Lane Usage
Eligible Vehicles - Single Occupant Carpool Lane Use Stickers

The new white stickers won't be given out until Jan 1st 2012. Prius PHV will release in March and it could arrive a few months earlier. Perfect timing, Toyota!

There will only be 40,000 stickers to go around so it will worth more if you need to sell it back. For reference 85,000 yellow stickers were issued. This means the white stickers will be twice as rare.

    One clarification:

white stickers are for all electric vehicles (or hydrogen)
blue stickers are for the plug in hybrids.

Thanks, I can understand the link better now. White stickers are for 100% electric, Hydrogen and Natural Gas vehicles. That's unlimited.

The "new stickers" for the eAT-PZEV plugin hybrids would be blue. That's limited to 40,000 stickers.

Dianne was the only dealer in Southern CA that did her homework on the Prius before the 2004 model came out. She was the only dealer who could answer our questions, which is why many of us drove a distance to get one from her at Carson. Glad she is back home.
