Base MSRP for the 2006 Prius will be $21,725, an increase of $450, or 2.1 percent.

    #1 $650.00 = $22375
    #2 $825.00 = $22550
    #3 $1,475.00 = $23200
    #4 $1,825.00 = $23500
    #5 $3,205.00 = $24930
    #6 $3,830.00 = $25555
    #7 $5,730.00 = $27455
    #8 $6,890.00 = $28615

**Add $540 for "destination charge" as well to all packages...not included in above totals.

Do you think those prices include the shipping charge? Are they taken from the article mentioned in the other thread that came from Toyota?

I saw the Toyota site and the only price I saw was MSRP. Where did you get the package prices? I am just wondering so I can bookmark it. Thanks for the info!

Good work, XLR8. Do you know if he/she said these were Toyota-released package prices, or his/her/someone's calculations/projections?

Quite a few PCers, I would think, will delight in calling their dealers with these prices. Everybody loves to be an insider! :p

Yeah, no doubt, it's fun to give them new info sometimes huh?! Some brownie points maybe...

Anyway, yes...these are what he got from Toyota, not speculation. And he got them in between our calls and was delighted to give ME some info this time...LOL

    Thank you, man!

Just read your Woo Hoo thread, too. Congrats!

Big day...lots of folks (like me) breathing a big sigh of relief...with Soc. Sec. as main income, really have to stretch for a new one...but at my age, how many new toys can there be, anyway?...not to mention one you think means something to others...

    Barcelona, huh? Show-off! :p ;) B)

and that can be cut quick too..so enjoy the heck out of your new purchase dude!

    Best of luck to ya,
    Aaron

    Nice work. Thanks.

My problem: My dealer said the midwest is getting NO packages 2, 3, or 4. Look at the price spread between #1 and #5 -- it's $2,555 which is a sneaky way to pass through another price hike. If you want the SKS, RC, or MP3 it's now an additional $2,555 since it's not on #1 -- only on #5 and above. This is for all of the midwest.

What's happening in the other zones? Are you getting packages #2-4?

So. CA gets 1, 3, 6 and 8. (Source: Dianne W., Carson Toyota)
No. CA gets 3, 6, 7, 8. (Source: my dealer)

    I'd buy out-of-region if I were you.

    Thanks, Jack06. I think so.

I really wanted #4 for the VSC but being forced up into #5 is a big price hike for me. Time to look around!

These prices do not include the destination charge, which is $540 for CA, based on the 2005 price.

I ran across a news report on an automotive site that said the destination charge is increasing from $540 to $580. I just tried to find the report again so I could post the link here, but was unsuccessful.

Be careful when selecting your package# , you don't get a security alarm until package#5 and the prius is one car I wouldn't want to try to add a alarm and get it to interface with the smartkey system, that would be a nightmare.
